Let’s Go Back To Church!Sandy and I were riding down Ramsey Street when she said, “How about Let’s Go Back To Church?” The more we discussed this, the more it grew in our hearts. “Remember 9/11?” Wesley said. “Didn’t everybody go back to church? To be sure it won’t take a disaster to get us to all go back to church.”
We all know the church is actually the people, God’s people. Buildings are simply the places we meet to worship God and grow together in our Faith Walk with God.
We have many wonderful, loving churches in this community. People that care about others, especially those in need of transformation that comes only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Do you ever meet people who resist your invitation to attend church? Some complain of too many “Hypocrites” in the church. Zig Ziglar says, ah come on, one more won’t hurt anything. Isn’t the truth Christians are not perfect, just forgiven. “We all have some junk in the trunk,” as Pastor Thompson says. That is one of the purposes of Church, develop us into who we can become.
Thank you for attending this special WIDU Anniversary Service; “Let’s Go Back to Church”. If you or someone you know had a bad experience in church, please allow us to encourage you to try again. Church attendance helps our entire community. We can become part of community solutions when we are empowered by the Word of God and the Fellowship of Believers on a regular basis.
Hey, there is an extra bonus for church attendance. We read a statistic several years ago that a major study showed people who attend church regularly tend to live 5+ years longer on average than those who do not. So going back to church can extend your life in this world as well as the next!
We sincerely thank every Church that supports the WIDU Anniversary. We believe our divine assignment is to partner with Churches and Pastors to support the awesome work of ministry you do in this community.
If you are attending this event and have never placed your faith in Christ Jesus, please allow us to encourage you to make the most important decision any of us ever make at this year’s WIDU Anniversary. Romans 10:9-10 says it this way; 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
That is what we mean when we say, Let’s Go Back to Church. If you make that decision, please let someone else know and find a good local church. We believe we are all a part of something much bigger than ourselves, The Kingdom of God. Welcome to the family!

Few gospel groups can equal the Williams Brothers in terms of longevity and popularity. The trio dates back to 1960, when Doug and Melvin’s father, the late Leon “Pop” Williams founded the group. In April 1991, Melvin, Henry and Doug decided to merge musical talent with industry expertise to form their own label dedicated to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through anointed music. Melvin, Doug, Henry and their musicians travel around the world with their distinctive Gospel sound, performing to enthusiastic audiences of all ages. When the group is not traveling, they make their homes in Mississippi.
