Applications Do more with LinkedIn with applications. These can be a great resource for

searching on topics, experts, and companies using apps like Slideshare or Polls.

• Avoid broadcasting canned “can you endorse

me?”, select carefully & tailor message

• Build a low connection-to-recommendation ratio

• Consider 3 recommendations for others & having at

least 3 on your profile, helps in search engine

optimization of your keywords

• Recommending a professional who’s just lost his

job is a valuable gift

View Your Network Stats See industries & geographies you are linked to, where are the gaps?

Company Profiles See who has changed jobs, what companies employees are connected to, where they were before & after this company

Follow Companies Get notified when people change roles in the

company, join or leave, when jobs are posted, etc.

- Always be courteous - “Give to” more than you try and “get from”

other LinkedIn members - Be relevant - Respond to a request within 48 hours if possible - Don’t IDK – if an invite is clearly spam, report it,

otherwise just “archive” the invitation. Someone spent one of their valuable invites. Don’t be mean
