election cycle up until 2 weeks before voting day

• Started falling sharply in the polls after opponents began attacking him and corruption allegations surfaced▫ Associated with the Universal Church of the

Kingdom of God Church was collecting money for his campaign

▫ Paid a former employee 205,000R$ in government money to promote him in Sao Paulo while he was a congressman in Brasilia
