Having lived by themselves for hundreds of years, blissfully unaware of the changing world around them, this pint-sized pair have ventured out in search of fame, fortune and friendship, touring the world with their possessions strapped to their backs. Although billed as a walkabout, the show is often a series of small, static performances when crowds who are drawn to the ingenious illusion seem to find it impossible to leave.

PakaThe horse is a full size (17 hands) robotic horse assembled from assorted machine parts and scrap metal. It does just about all a real horse does- it moves, turns, reverses, whinnies, rears and even breathes fire. It is based on an electric wheelchair, inherited from the artist's 96 year old grandmother, transformed into a horse for the ancient knight “Don Quixote” to ride upon.

Mad Hatter’s Tea PartyThis scene is part walkabout and part static show. The Tea-Party crew (Mad Hatter, March Hare, Dormouse and walking Table) start several tea parties each one interrupted by the Table who gets bored and runs off. Eventually they meet Alice and a short, static scene ensues. The static scene is includes acrobatics, dance and sometimes some juggling but primarily is an interactive moment for audience to join the characters for (imaginary) tea

The CaterpillarThe Caterpillar (sitting on a shiny, red, mushroom and on hidden stilts) find a good spot to tell nonsense stories to all and sundry. He is a fantastic and ridiculous sight and has been known to introduce bands on stage and perform other MC duties. He does like the sound of his own voice though so eventually needs to be removed. We do not recommend taking his advice too literally. Occasionally we get him to read the caterpillar chapter from the book and with Alice this takes the story from page to life.

Page 124: 2012 Revisited Olympic Proposal

The Queen of Heart’s CroquetThis is a big, colourful, noisy scene. The Queen, her entourage and Alice play croquet enlisting members of the audience as both hoops and hedgehogs. The beauty of this scene is the freedom given by improvisation.

With outsize topiary as their only disguise, they are determined to garden… believe in the unbelievable.
