Welcome to the 17th annual North American Nationals. For these three days in July some of the most amazing horses in the nation come to compete for the title of National Champion.

Months of hard work and dozens of priceless volunteers have made this year’s North American Nationals possible. Every volunteer is integral to the success of NAN, and for that we express our deepest gratitude. Many of our volunteers offered help months ahead of time, foregoing their opportunity to compete so that the show could be possible. Take a moment and thank the volunteers when you get a chance, they work very hard for all of us.

Judges are the backbone of this show. We are truly lucky that they are willing to share their knowledge with all of us, and we appreciate their many years of experience. There is no question that we are grateful to be able to have such an esteemed group of judges with us for 2012.

Our Registrar, Jim West, has become familiar with nearly every entrant. With his unending devotion and eye for detail, we couldn’t have been in better hands. Many of you have gotten to know Jim well through the registration process and know just how much he has put into making NAN as seamless as possible. For that we are all grateful!

This show would also not be possible if not for the shows that take place all over North America. The show holders, local judges, and supporters all are integral to the success of North American Nationals. Thanks are also due to you, the shower, for supporting your local shows and then bringing your horses from near and far to Kentucky.

We hope that your time at North American Nationals proves to be a wonderful experience all around. Placings, ribbons and cookies aside, we’re all here because we share a love for the horse and the amazing art that the model horse hobby encompasses.
