Radar 101

Laser 101

• Laser can only be used from a stationary position, typically 800-1200 feet.

• Laser is pinpoint accurate and does not scatter like radar.

• Police typically aim for the front, flat reflective spot on a vehicle.

• From 800-1200 feet, the laser beam is approximately 18 inches to 36 inches in diameter

• Laser guns receive either a speed reading, one of many error codes or a jam code.

Key features of the RL Series

• The K40 Defuser EX is designed to instantaneously detect, notify the driver and jam the pulse laser light signal transmitted by every type of police laser gun. The EX is the ideal addition to any K40 radar detector.

• It is best to determine how many Defusers to recommend to your customer during the initial consultation. – How to recommend the right configuration: 1 Defuser for small/mid sized

sedans. 2 Defusers for large sedans, SUV’s and Trucks. Because of the small diameter of the laser beam that comes off the Laser gun, it is important to cover as much surface area as possible.
