HE President Benigno S. Aquino lll issued Executive Order No. 26 lost

Februory 24, 2011 mondoting the implementotion of the Notionol

Greening Progrom (NGP) os o government priority. Soid directiveprovides for the integrolion ond hormonizolion of greening efforts ondsimilor octiviiies of the government, civil society ond privote sector under

the NGP. The NGP's torget is to plont 1.5 billion lrees covering obout 1.5

million hectores for o period of 6 yeors from 201 1 to 2016.

Under Section 5.6.1 of lhe soidEO, Loco

mondoted for the estoblishment of nurseries ondmoteriols.

The seedlings sholl be plonted in lhe londs of public domoin or NGP

siles like foresllonds, mongrove ond prolective oreos; oncestrol domoins;

civil ond militory reservolions; urbon oreos underthe greening plon of the

LGUs; inoctive ond obondoned mine siies; ond other suitoble lqnds.

However, lhe soid seedlings moy be diskibuted lo the residenis for them

to plont in their own lots ond/or plonted in on oreo to be designoted by

the concerned songgunion.

speorheod the tree ploniing octivilies by estoblishing nurseries ondproducing plonting moteriqls for the nqtionwide synchronized plonting on

June 25, 2012, lhe Philippines Arbor Doy pursuonl to Proclomoiion No. 643,

doted June 9,2004.



Likewise, the Songgunion ot oll levels ore odvised to poss onoppropriote ordinonce directing oll homeowners ond building owners to

ploni trees in iheir bockyord or ot lhe frontoge of lheir house or building toconlribule to efforts of comboting globol worming.
