Here is a very fun twist on the birdhouse theme. We took different types of house and other objects and turned them into birdhouses. There are lodges, barns, lighthouses, beach houses, pumpkins and even a teapot! There are 20 jumbo designs in all and each of the designs come in two different sizes, 6”x10” and 5”x7”.

There are also 2 different headers and 8 individual birds to further embellish your projects. We created a door hanger with the Home Tweet Home designs. To embroider these designs simply choose your favorite fabric, match your thread colors to that fabric and start stitching. We chose a fat quarter bundle in fun spring colors.

This was a collection that has been requested for a long time, we just could never get the artwork perfect. After a long wait we are finally releasing our Gaming collection. There are 12 different main designs that look great on tea towels, pillows, or clothing. Each of the designs come in 2 different sizes. For our project we stitched one of the large designs on a

denim shirt and then sprinkled the smaller bonus designs on the other side. It is a perfect shirt to wear on gaming night. There are 31 designs for the 5”x5”, 5”x7” and 6”x10” hoops.

This is probably completely different from any quilt you have ever created. I am a big fan of pop art from the 1960’s and this is a perfect example of pop art at its finest. There are over 25 different blocks and you can make anything from a pillow to a large quilt using all of them. These designs are sure

to brighten up, and add a touch of whimsy to any room. 32 different designs, blocks in sizes 7.8”, 6.8”, 5.8”, and 4.8”. Collection includes transitional rectangles and smaller blocks.

We always get requests for designs for little boys so we came up with this adorable robots collection. There are 20 different robot quilt blocks. There are surfers, skateboarders, animals and much more. The 20 designs come in blocks

as well as individual designs. What little one wouldn’t love these as a wall hanging for his room or even on a shirt? The best part about this collection is that you can combine it with other Anita Goodesign collections! This collection is part of the “Mix and Match” quilt line.

“Party Flags”Projects Collection/Platinum Club

“Hobo Handbag”Projects Collection/Platinum Club

These Party Flags will bring color and flair to any party. They are fast and easy flags made in the hoop, then you attach them to bias binding and you are finished. Use a combination of letters, numbers and punctuation to create any greeting or banner of your choice! Collection includes 26 letter designs, punctuation, symbols and blank designs. Plus number designs 0 through 9.

Hobo Handbag is a great way to use coordinating fabrics that you love and want to show off. This

practical handbag has a cell phone pocket on the outside and a button

closure. You start by making quilted blocks on your embroidery machine then add

a contrasting fabric to make a fun color-blocked handbag. With this fast and easy

construction, you will want to make one in every color!

Here at Anita Goodesign we are always looking for the latest trends in the world of embroidery. We have noticed that embroidery on clothing is making a come back! So, that inspired us to give you some tips for embroidering on garments. We also have a product line titled Anita Goodesign Fashion Collections. Go to our website and take a look at all of our beautiful fashion collections. These collections were designed with fashion clothing in mind and the designs were all tested on garments to guarantee perfect embroidery results.

Here are some of our fashion rules and tips.

1. Start with a quality garmentThe better the garment, the better your end result will be. Cheap clothing generallydoesn’t have good sewing techniques to begin with and are made using cheaper grades of fabric which don’t hold embroidery well.

2. Don’t be afraid to use your seam ripper!A lot of the techniques we use will require you to open up seams and literally take your garment apart. You have an embroidery machine that costs thousand of dollars don’t be afraid to rip apart a $50.00 pair of jeans. Besides, ripping it apart is easy, its putting it back together that’s tough!

3. Experiment!Creating your own custom garment will require experimenting with different fabrics and embellishing techniques. Don’t be afraid to try something new.

Applique does not just apply to Fashion and garments;it can be on any kind of embroidery project. We even have applique on four of our releases this month. The Gaming collection has applique designs incorported on a denium shirt.

Creating Applique is as easy as 1, 2, 3... Applique designs are digitized specifically for applique. There is no need to edit or change the design in any way. The hardest part about embroidering applique is choosing your fabric. So choose your applique fabric carefully and follow these simple instructions.

Step 1 is to hoop your base fabric using tearaway stabilizer. Start embroidering your design. The first step is called the marking stitch and it will embroideran outline of the design. This step instructs you on where to place your applique fabric.

After the tack-down stitch is complete, gently remove the hoop from the machine and place it onto a flat surface. Be careful not to pull on the fabric, this can create tension problems.

Next, take your applique fabric and place it over the marking stitch so that it completely covers it. Leave about an extra inch of fabric all the way around the marking stitch. Hit start on your machine again. The next stitch is called the tackdown stitch and it will stitch your applique fabric onto your decorative fabric.

Using scissors carefully trim around the design. Cut as close to the line as you can.

This is how the design will look once it is fully trimmed.

Standard Applique Techniques

Carefully slide the hoop back onto the machine and secure it into place.

Continue embroidering the design using the proper colors.

The design is now complete. If the design has multiple appliques you will have to repeat this process for each of the appliques.

Samples from our fashion collection “Glamour Rocks” and our new collection “Gaming” just released this month!

•Tired of paying full price for your Embroidery Designs?

•Do you enjoy getting the newest embroidery designs available in the market?

•We have a solution that’s right for you!

•Our 4 unique Clubs will help you choose the best option for your embroidery needs!

Introducing Our NEW Clubs!

Our Diamond Club was created 8 years ago to give our customers new designs every month at a discounted price. The last year has brought many changes at Anita Goodesign including the introduction of our quilting line. We have had feedback from both machine embroiderers wanting more embroidery designs and our customers who make embroidered quilts requesting more quilting designs. So we decided to make some changes, by adding a club for quilting. If you are a current Diamond Club or Platinum Club member you will continue to receive those designs for the remainder of the year. If you would prefer to have the remainder of your membership converted to Quilting Club designs we can do that as well. Simply email Emily Whitaker at [email protected] and she will make sure your next packet is for the Quilting Club. We also have a new club for our customers who want everything, called the VIP Club. Of course no matter which club you are a member of, our trade out policy still applies. You can always trade for a quilting design or an embroidery design. Here are the details on all of the clubs. We hope these changes will allow you to choose a club that will give you more of what you want!
