Community Impact Program Testimonial: Project Independence“Finally got to get out of my home after two years. I cried when I got to be in my wheel-chair and go outside to enjoy the air. They (the volunteers)

were a true blessing.”

Community Impact Program Testimonial:

Imagination Library

“Reading to children at a very early age provides

positive, language-rich learning experiences to

influence good brain development.

Imagination Library gives families the tools to

nurture literacy in the home.” ~Rich Vantol, Saginaw ISD

Community Impact Program Testimonial: AmeriCorps

“As an AmeriCorps site supervisor, I am pleased to be part of the AmeriCorps program. With the program’s help, we were able to open a new after school program in a local elementary

school. It’s amazing what can happen

when Americans of all backgrounds are engaged in service. The AmeriCorps members bring this dedication and

commitment to our area.” ~Mindy McNally, Saginaw YMCA

Community Impact Program Success:

Project HOME

Vanessa, a 22 year old mother of an infant and

toddler, was staying in a hotel when she called

Project HOME. When she had no place to go and

no money left for another night at the hotel,

Vanessa contacted Project HOME. With only

$750 in assistance, the program was able to

rapidly re-house her in February 2011.

She now has a full time job, a car and her family

has remained stably housed.

Partnering Program Testimonial:

Salvation Army - Emergency Services Program

“I’m glad you offer in-home services. We usually

don’t have gas money, have only one car and I am

the only driver. It was much appreciated that they

(Salvation Army staff) came to the house through

the Rural Outreach Program.”

~Program Recipient

Partnering Program Testimonial: READ Association - Youth Literacy Mentor Program

“Seeing the smiles on their little faces when I pick them up in their classroom to go to the READ room is priceless. It

really shows the joy of reading.”
