QR stands for Quick Response. The technology in these little squares was created in Ja-pan, by Toyota sub-sidiary Denso-Wave in 1994. They have

already been widely used in Japan, and now are beginning to pop up everywhere in the U.S. When these two dimensional codes are scanned, they can link your smart phone to special URLs (Uniform Resource Locators) the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web. These codes can be used virtually anywhere that can be scanned; in magazines, on business cards, on billboards or buses any-where a QR app-equipped smart phone or QR bar code reader can scan. Mico QR codes (the smaller version of the QR Code) can be used for a smaller print out size option. Because these codes, unlike the traditional bar code, can carry infor-mation both vertically and horizontally, they can store far more data. You can scan a QR code and be brought to a site advertising a product with picture, mo-tion and sound! Scan the QR code on a business card, and you can instantly retrieve all of your contacts information into your smart phone. A QR code in an advertisement can bring you to the busi-ness website. These codes can be used in smaller spaces like on vaccine vials and blood testing tubes where traditional UPC codes would not be feasible. The team of health care pro-fessionals, including a board certified internal medicine physician, a pulmon-ologist, exercise physiologist, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, nurses, fitness specialists and nutritionists, provide a wide range of comprehensive services. Patients are required to have pulmonary function testing prior to begin-ning the program. Following a physician referral, patients in the program undergo an assessment to determine an appro-priate and individualized plan, which is based on patient goals, current fitness level and medical complications/disabili-ties. In addition, patients also participate in monitored exercise, breathing classes and educational sessions. Upon completion of the pro-gram, patients will have an increased functional capacity, a better understand-ing of pulmonary disease and medica-tions, a decreased risk for future inci-dents and a healthier pulmonary lifestyle that allows them to live life more indepen-dently.

Best Age to Begin Orthodontic Treatment

Although there is not a universalbest age to begin orthodontic treatment,the American Association of Orthodontics(AAO) recommends that every child see anorthodontistatanearlyage.Thisshouldbenolaterthantheageofsevenoreight.How-ever,avisitatanyageisadvisableiftheparentorfamilydentisthasrecognizedaparticularproblem. Orthodontists can improve smilesand correct bites at any age, but there arebenefits to early diagnosis and treatment.Early examination enables the orthodontistto detect and evaluate problems and deter-mine the appropriate time to treat them.Aftertheinitialevaluation,theorthodontistmaymonitorfacialgrowthanddevelopmentby periodic checkups while the permanentteetheruptandthefaceandjawscontinuetogrow. In other cases preventative or in-terceptivetreatmentmaybeinitiatedtopre-ventmoreseriousproblemsfromdeveloping.Someof themost commoncorrectivemea-sures in children are eliminating abnormalhabits and guiding the eruption of teethandcorrectingdeformitiesinthejawastheygrow. Todevelopboththeupperandlow-er jaws sufficiently to accommodate all thepermanentteeth.1. To correctly relate the upper and

Thereareanumberofinjuriesthatcancausehippainincludingarthritis,bursitis,stressfracturesandcartilagetears.HoweverIwant to focusononeof themost commoncausesofhippainwhichismuscletightnessandspasms.Muscletightnessnormallycomesaboutafteraninjury,overuse,increasedstrainorfromhyperactivenerves.
