the Western Protective Relay Conference (WPRC) is an educational forum for the presentation and discussion of broad and detailed technical aspects of protective relaying and related subjects. Approximately 550 people attend, mostly from the western United States.
this forum allows participants to learn and apply advanced technologies that prevent electrical power failures. Speakers are invited to present papers selected by a group of protective relaying experts.

If you would like to submit an abstract for the 2012 program, the deadline for a 300-word abstract listing title, authors, and affiliations is April 23, 2012. Submit a cover page with the following information: (1) presenter’s name, (2) firm, (3) address, (4) phone, (5) fax, and (6) e-mail address. Utility- and application-oriented papers are preferred.
Send your abstract by e-mail to [email protected], or mail to WSU Conference Management, PO Box 645222, Pullman, WA 99164-5222. All submittals will be acknowledged in writing.

An extra feature of the conference is time provided each evening at the Red Lion hotel at the Park to visit with vendors who bring products and exhibits. Manufacturers of products or firms with services wishing to host hospitality suites in conjunction with the Western Protective Relay Conference are required to contact WSU Conference Management to:
(1) Register at least one person from your firm with WSU. Additional personnel from your company are welcome to attend the conference at the regular registration fee.
(2) Obtain information on reserving a hospitality suite during the conference.
(3) Provide a three-sentence description of your firm for the display board.
the conference vendor fee is $450 and includes full registration for one person from your firm and listing on the Conference Exhibitors’ Display and Location Map (if registered by October 3). vendor fees go to support the last day door-prize giveaway.

CONtINUING EDUCAtION UNItS
this conference has been approved for 2.4 WSU Continuing Education Units (CEUs). CEUs are available to participants who attend the entire conference. CEUs are nationally recognized noncredit units of achievement that may be used as evidence of professional development and job advancement. One CEU represents each 10 hours of conference program. the $10-per-person fee should be included with payment for registration and is not refundable. Complete a CEU enrollment form prior to the start of the conference.
