Banquet
You’ve travelled all day and have arrived safely in Abbotsford for an exciting and
memorable week of championship hockey. What better way to get things started
than to attend the banquet, enjoy a great meal and listen to inspirational words
from our guest speaker, EJ McGuire, Executive Director of NHL Central Scouting
& Vice President Hockey Operations, NHL.
We are very excited to have our banquet hosted by Hockey Fest…Beyond The
Pond and together we are planning a memorable evening full of special guests
and surprises!
The banquet will be for players, coaches and managers only. All players and team
personnel are asked to attend in dress pants, shirt and tie. More information will
be included in the registration package.
Coach/Manager Meeting
All coaching staff and managers are required to attend the meeting on Saturday
evening after the Banquet.

Attending Team Requirements
Once your team has earned their spot in the Championships, we will require the
following information. A complete registration package with detailed instructions
will be sent to the team manager once you have qualified.
Official Team Picture
Ensure the quality of the picture is good as we will be using it in our program and
all other championship print material. Please list the names of everyone in order
as they appear in the team picture.
Association Logo
Please send a jpeg image of your association logo and your home and away jersey
colors.
Contact Information
Please provide Head Coach and Manager names, home/cell numbers, and email
addresses.
Scouting Package Information
We will be producing a Scouting Book that will list all teams and players. We will
require player’s height, weight, position, R/L shot, DOB, and parent names.
Mandatory Equipment Checks
The RCM will do an equipment check before the start of each team’s first game
and randomly after that time. Players with illegal/worn equipment will not be
able to participate using the illegal equipment. Bring extra helmet screws, gloves
and tape. Ensure your local Risk Management Coordinator or District Director
does an equipment check with your team before coming to the championships to
avoid any disappointments. Most frequent illegal equipment findings: glove
palms, helmet fit and J hooks, stick plugs and neck guards with BNQ certification
not clearly visible. Goalie helmets must have chin cups and side straps.

MSA Arena
You will find Abbotsford in the heart of the Fraser Valley with a spectacular view
of majestic Mt. Baker. MSA Arena is easily accessed from Hwy 1 by two exits. 1)
From the Clearbrook Road exit, turn on to Marshall Road, head east and turn left
on to Emerson Street. 2) From the McCallum road exit, travel north on McCallum
to Marshall Road, turn left heading west and turn right on to Emerson Street. The
arena is on the left just north of Bevan Avenue.
MSA Arena has ample parking and is directly across the street from Centennial
Park and Mill Lake. Take a walk around the lake, go for a swim in the outdoor
pool, or enjoy a picnic lunch and watch the ducks. MSA Arena was one of the
locations used in the making of ‘Miracle’.
South Fraser Way is the main street through Abbotsford and is within walking
distance of the Arena. This is where you will find both major shopping centers as
well as numerous restaurants and other services.
Visiting Abbotsford will introduce you to an eclectic blend of modern urban style
and friendly country living. So come for the hockey but be sure to explore the
many sites and activities Abbotsford has to offer!
