Dear Opera Lover,
The 2011 - 2012 season will be my 30th year as Artistic Director of Sarasota Opera. It’s been my pleasure to be in this position, as well as that of Principal Conductor, for the past three decades. We have one of our most exciting seasons planned for you, featuring the great works of Puccini, Bizet, Donizetti, Samuel Barber, and, of course, Verdi.
As a subscriber, you are an important part of our opera company. We bring excellent artistic and technical talent to Sarasota, so that you can experience the greatness of opera as it should be performed: not in a movie theater, on television or radio, and not from a recording, but live in an opera house, sitting with other members of your community.
I want to thank you for your help in making Sarasota Opera grow, and I look forward to many more years as your Artistic Director.
