Amid the hustle and bustle of London, the Open Air Theatre sits as an oasis within the tranquillity of Regent’s Park. At 1,240 seats, it is one of London’s largest playhouses and yet it achieves an atmosphere of electric intimacy. As stories unfold on stage, something magical happens as daylight surrenders to night.

This unique theatre experience is complimented by an array of pre-performance dining options all delivered within the enchanting theatre grounds, making the Open Air Theatre an essential part of the summer calendar.

24 JUNE – 31 JULY

In this merry-go-round of mistaken identity, two sets of estranged twins find themselves unwittingly wandering through the streets of the same town, where the men are jealous, the women are furious and there’s a priceless gold chain that everyone wants.

As broken relationships are slowly pieced back together, order is restored and the final reunion is a heart-warming celebration of love and family.

This new production takes place in 1940’s Casablanca, where there’s danger on the streets for the strangers in town, and every hep cat’s drawn to the sound of swing.

Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim Book by James Lapine Originally Directed on Broadway by James Lapine

5 AUGUST – 11 SEPTEMBER

Into the Woods takes the stories of the Brothers Grimm and gives them a dark and humorous twist. The popular tales of Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella are interwoven with that of the Baker and his Wife and their quest to have a child. However this re-telling goes beyond ‘happily ever after’ as the familiar characters find themselves in unfamiliar circumstances and hopes and dreams are questioned and revisited.

Celebrating his 80th birthday in 2010, Stephen Sondheim is one of theatre’s most prolific composers, with recent West End and Broadway revivals of A Little Night Music and the Oscar-winning film version of Sweeney Todd directed by Tim Burton.

Presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Limited on behalf of Music Theatre International of New York.

A supportive crowd wills on six brave performers who arrive with no script and not the faintest idea of what will happen. Through improvisation they create whole sketches and comic dramas that are amazingly inventive and sometimes take off into flights of surreal brilliance.

2008 if.comedy Award Winner at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

O'Doherty, the Ryanair James Bond, returns for his second UK tour. There will be standing up, there will be sitting down, there will be a song where he tries to seduce the entire audience.

The songs will most likely be played on small pianos from the mid-80s, chosen for their versatility and range, and the fact that they fit into a sports bag – so no excess baggage.

Describing his comedy, he says “it's kind of like when you're going down a flight of stairs in the dark, and you think there are two steps left, but there only turns out to be one. It's like that for a whole evening”.

6 JUNE, 8.45PMAll tickets £15*

Screened in the Open Air Theatre auditorium, Walt Disney Pictures and visionary director Tim Burton bring you the epic fantasy adventure Alice in Wonderland, a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time featuring an all-star cast including Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter.

13 JUNE, 8PMAll tickets £21*

A recent addition to the Blue Note roster of recording artists, Stacey now boasts seven best-selling albums. The Boy Next Door achieved Gold status and her 2007 album Breakfast on the Morning Tram was nominated for a Grammy Award last year and went Platinum in France. The album tour saw Stacey perform in 27 different countries. Her much anticipated new album, Raconte-moi will be released on EMI’s Blue Note Records this spring.

His most recent shows include Mastercrafts and the beautifully made My Dream Farm. Monty is a keen organic gardener and became President of the Soil Association in 2008.

With a hugely expressive voice and an arsenal of powerful songs, Martha Wainwright is a beguiling entertainer and a refreshingly different force in music.

The daughter of folk legends Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle and sister of the acclaimed Rufus, she burst onto the scene in 2002 and has since worked with and supported artists from Snow Patrol and Cyndi Lauper to Van Morrison and Sean Lennon.

Debuting at the Open Air Theatre, her set will include songs from her recent Edith Piaf record.

5 SEPTEMBER, 7.30PMTickets £25 / £32.50**

Seth, who now stands as a true inspiration to the current new crop of emerging folk artists, returns to the theatre in September armed with a collection of spellbinding songs from his highly anticipated new album Hearts and Minds.

His 2006 album Freedom Fields sold over 100,000 copies in the UK alone and helped Seth build on his cult following, finding a whole new audience for his rhythmic brand of indie-folk song.

Previously winning both Folk Singer of the Year and Album Of The Year at the prestigious Radio 2 Folk Awards, Seth and his band continue to deliver a captivating live show, with a rhythmic, raw energy seldom seen in any other acoustic band.

Every theatre performance is unique, but this is especially the case at the Open Air Theatre. It is best to come prepared for all types of weather, bringing your own shade in the afternoon or a jumper for the end of the evening.

Although on average 94% of performances are completed each year, as the auditorium and stage are completely uncovered, bad weather may mean we have to stop and re-start the show. On rare occasions, it will not be possible for us to complete the performance, but we never cancel a show before the advertised start time.

In the event that the performance cannot be completed owing to bad weather, you can exchange your tickets for another visit (this excludes music, comedy and one-off events, which continue whatever the weather). There is no time limit on exchanging your tickets; just keep your original tickets.

Please note that all exchanges are for equivalent seats and subject to availability. We do not give refunds for performances which are not completed because of bad weather.

All tickets are sold subject to terms and conditions, which includes the weather policy, available on www.openairtheatre.com/terms.Discounts are not available from every sales outlet and are at the discretion of the Sales and Customer Services Manager.

All details are correct at the time of going to print. Please check www.openairtheatre.com for latest details.
