SIMPLY BRILLIANT.

Clearly infl uenced by the world of contemporary industrial design, Terrain puts drivers at ease with warm ambient lighting, excellent all-around visibility and controls designed and positioned in accordance with modern ergonomic principles. Advanced electronic systems – including a standard Rearview Camera System, OnStar® and available Bluetooth® mobile phone connectivity – put up-to-the-second high-tech functionality at your fi ngertips. The result is a fresh, attractive driver interface that encourages a higher level of confi dence and control.

Terrain’s audio, climate control, information and personalization systems are logically designed and intuitively positioned. You will even fi nd standard switches for the electronic child safety lock system for the rear doors.

Shift into ‘Reverse’ and the scene behind your Terrain automatically appears in the interior rear-view mirror or, if your vehicle is so equipped, on the navigation system screen.

With your iPod® connected via Terrain’s USB port, your playlists and folders appear on the sound system display. You may also use Terrain’s sound system controls to choose tracks and make other adjustments.

TERRAIN INTERIOR

The available Rear Seat Entertainment System includes dual 203 mm (8 in.) fl ip-up screens mounted on the front headrests. These screens can display multiple inputs, such as DVD movies and video games, and are adjustable for comfortable viewing by passengers of varying sizes.

ADVANCED DESIGN, BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED.

On the road, Terrain spoils its occupants with impressive comfort and very low levels of noise and vibration. The cabin is trimmed in fi ne materials – including, if you wish, perforated leather-appointed seating surfaces accented with contrasting stitching. For added comfort on longer journeys, the front bucket seats feature prominent bolsters and, on the driver’s seat, a power height and adjustable lumbar support. There’s premium comfort for your rear passengers as well, thanks to a Multi-FlexTM second-row seat that adjusts backwards and forwards by approximately 200 mm (7.9 inches). Terrain’s door-integrated rocker panels even make entry and exit easier and more comfortable, with a narrow step-over that also helps keep your clothes clean and dry.

TERRAIN VERSATILITY

WHAT’S ON TODAY’S AGENDA?

Do your plans include a trip to the mall? Tackling a renovation project? Maybe packing up for a weekend at the lake? In a world of ever-changing needs, Terrain is designed to adapt to the challenge at hand. With the Multi-Flex rear seat adjusted forward, there’s almost 900 litres (over 31 cubic feet) of space in the cargo bay. That more than doubles if you fold the 60/40 divided rear seat. A low 732 mm (28.8 inches) liftover height makes loading and unloading any kind of cargo a simple matter. There’s also an available power liftgate that can be programmed to open to a pre-set height, depending on your height and the ceiling restrictions where you park.

TERRAIN TECHNOLOGY

EXCELLENCE WITHOUT EXCESS.

The goal: to create a Compact Crossover SUV that would perform without punishing owners at the pump. The result: equipped with the standard 182-horsepower ECOTEC 2.4-litre Direct Injected four-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT), Terrain drivers enjoy more power and better fuel effi ciency than Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.* For a higher level of performance, there’s an available 264-horsepower 3.0-litre V6 with VVT, also featuring advanced Direct Injection technology. A sophisticated six-speed automatic transmission is standard with both engines. On models equipped with the ECOTEC 2.4-litre engine, the transmission includes an ECO mode that boosts effi ciency when it’s selected by the driver. Every Terrain model also features a sophisticated chassis loaded with premium components, including a four-wheel independent suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars. An active all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is available for drivers who want an extra measure of control in low-traction situations.

For decades, engineers have been improving performance and effi ciency by introducing fuel into the engine ever closer to the point of ignition. In both Terrain engines, this progression reaches its logical conclusion, as fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber, right next to the spark plug. The injection process is managed digitally and constantly optimized for the current driving conditions. The results include cleaner burning, increased fuel effi ciency and excellent power.
