Developed by IAL Consultants on behalf of the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council, this latest study, comprising more than 300 pages, 150 tables, and 95 charts and diagrams, provides a detailed analysis of the major end-use markets for polyurethane in North America for 2010. The 2010 End-Use Market Survey for the Polyurethanes Industry in the United States, Canada and Mexico, provides a breakdown of polyurethane production by type and by major end-use market for each country. In addition, four-year data trends are presented along with discussions of the market status in 2010. Due to sharp economic transitions in some markets over the past two years, additional data and commentary will be provided for 2009 and 2010. The study provides commentary on the drivers for polyurethane and how polyurethane can make an effective contribution to our daily lives by providing greater comfort and safety, increasing energy efficiency and improving sustainability in the value chain from a cradle to grave approach. Additional data also will be provided to help describe the NAFTA market and discussing the position of polyurethane to other materials in the marketplace such as insulation, flooring underlay and the bedding market. Charts presenting 2010 market data and a summary of the demand for major raw materials including isocyanates, polyols, renewable chemicals (including natural oil polyols) and additives will be available in Excel format. The latest available industry data for the end- use markets (automotive, refrigeration, furniture, bedding, building and construction) also are included. The study continues to build upon previous reports published by the CPI for the polyurethanes industry in the United States, Canada and Mexico. 2010 End-Use Market Survey on the Polyurethanes Industry in the United States, Canada and Mexico Publication Date: September 2011 Contact Info: +1 (202) 249-6602 Email: [email protected] CONTENTS 1.

The study provides commentary on the drivers for polyurethane and how polyurethane can make an effective contribution to our daily lives by providing greater comfort and safety, increasing energy efficiency and

improving sustainability in the value chain from a cradle to grave approach. Additional data also will be

provided to help describe the NAFTA market and discussing the position of polyurethane to other

materials in the marketplace such as insulation, flooring underlay and the bedding market.

Charts presenting 2010 market data and a summary of the demand for major raw materials

including isocyanates, polyols, renewable chemicals (including natural oil polyols) and additives will be

available in Excel format. The latest available industry data for the end-use markets (automotive, refrigeration, furniture, bedding, building and construction) also are included.

The study continues to build upon previous reports published by the CPI for the polyurethanes industry in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
