An Italian company established in 1944 is a specialist in the field of electronic component production for lighting industry. At the moment it is a leader in the domestic market and almost two thirds of their production are intended for export. It supplies lampholders for light sources and connectors in the value exceeding half a million of EUR for OMS.

Ballasts and transformers as well as operating devices on the diode basis for our products are supplied by the foremost world manufacturer of the most up-to-date operating devices for lighting bodies, TridonicAtco. The annual volume of deliveries for OMS oscillates about the value of 2 million EUR.

OMS provides its clients with the best achievements in every field. The OSRAM company, one of the most significant manufacturers of this assortment in the world, is a supplier of light sources for our luminaires. OMS follows its philosophy of responsibility for the future via the use of the top technology in its manufacture.

Lampholders for our light sources T5 or T8 in the annual purchase volume up to 150 thousand EUR are produced by the German company BJB which has been related to the lighting technique for 140 years. Knowledge and experience allow this brand to reliably fulfil its credo - “your connection to light”.

The main supplier of aluminium sheets for back surfaces, grids, reflectors of luminaires with OMS brand is ALANOD Aluminium-Veredlung, an European leader in anodized aluminium production. In 2009 the volume of the implemented purchases amounted to 440 t.

The current trend in the lighting technique consists of the use of microprismatic material in the diffuser structure. A luminaire ensures soft non-dazzling illumination without reflections on monitors. The prismatic materials are for OMS supplied by a traditional German company BWF established in 1892.

Process - improvements of the Module QUARK luminaireCustomer requested for Modul QUARK additional features, which are not offered in the basic version: adjustment of light distribution from the direct to direct/indirect, further he requested to include in the luminaire the multisensor for presence detection and regulation according to the amount of day light. Another requirement was directed to the free access to the luminaires terminal block, as Modul Quark comes standardly with a fixed cable. The last demand was the change from standard color RAL 9006 to special RAL 9006 - white aluminum microstructure.

We make use of the latest knowledge of light, as well as of our body and psychology. We purposefully use the possibilities offered to us through the information about the biological impact of the light on organism and the discovery of the third receptor. Light controls our internal clock, concentration, as well as the entire quality of life defined by the term that represents the ultimate effort of current interior designers well being. Simplicity is the goal that is ahead of us from the very first step when we start developing the solution.

Only as late as discovery of the third photoreceptor explained a direct effect of light – especially its blue factor – on the control centre of the biological clock in our brain that controls the segregation of the sleep hormone melatonin. Because its production is already triggered by decreasing light level, it is possible to influence this process by appropriate intensity and modulation of artificial lighting. The activation effect of light depends not only on the colour of the light but also on the way it illuminates area and on the right angle of lighting beam impact on an eye.
