2010 Dirt Corps Team ResumeTRANSCRIPT
The Dirt Corps (pronounced Dirt Core) was founded in
2004 by five avid mountain bike riders to promote the sport
as it evolves. Through progressive trail building, advocacy,
and training the next generation of riders, the Dirt Corps
mission is to seek out new opportunities for the sport and
recreation of mountain biking for all age and skill levels.
2009 has been an incredible year for our organization.
Our race team collected over 40 podium wins this year in
the Fluidride Cup, Whistler Crankworx and other regional
races. We have been referenced extensively in regional
mountain bike press. Our extended network of builders
have contributed over 5,000 hours to local and regional
trail projects as we continue to work with the DNR and land
managers to create expanded trail access. The signature
free ride trail at the new Duthie Bike Park will be complete
in early 2010 but has already been ridden extensively and
featured in many online videos.
As ambassadors of our sport and culture, we¹re promoting
the stoke of riding and creating an awareness by example
to help build and influence a more positive outcome for
tomorrow. Build now for a glorious future!
“The Dirt Corps have worked tirelessly to build many of the trails
that we all know and ride. From Tokul, to the Ridge to Duthie
and Colonnade – these guys are some of the best trail builders
around and can have a crew organized and on the trail in force
at the drop of a dime. Not only that but their commitment to
getting youth on bikes and providing opportunities for youth to
ride (working with Trips for Kids, IMBA Take a Kid MTB day, the
Snoqualmie Ridge Bike Park, providing trips to Whistler and the
Skate Barn for the younger ones) is the largest outreach to
youth in the local mountain bike scene that I know of.
Hands down, these are some of the better and more active
riders I know. I am happy to help the Dirt Corps out in any effort,
at any time.”
Jon Kennedy, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance
