This is my first semester in Architecture; over-all, I enjoyed very much the learning process, I like how the course has been set out, in the way that we didn’t know where we were ap-proaching to for the final product, instead we build up the building blocks by fully utilising our creativity and slowly work towards the end. Everything I did this semester were new to me, including thinking in abstract sense, learning to use cardboard to make models and drawing plans and section. Out of all the new things I have learnt, I consider Assem-blage to be one of the most successful exer-cises that I have done, because the grey box-board is very easy to work with once you get around with it, therefore the 3D grey boxboard model is the most intricate and faceted model compare to the 3D models I have made later on in Zoning and Structure exercise. Later on, as the inaccuracy occurred during the proc-ess of duplicating the 3D grey boxboard mod-el using coloured cardboard and balsa wood, the structure of the model became flatter and flatter each time, and at last it lost the original quality of the model, which is quite unfortu-nate. My final model in the Terrain exercise could have turned out much more better if I could duplicate the exact model of my first grey boxboard model; however I wasn’t famil-iar with using balsa wood to build structure model, so that could be an improvement that I can make in my future study. In conclusion, this semester has been rewarding and at the same time I had a fun time as well.

The cafe is cladded with expandable mesh with a layer of glass on top supported by beams, which allows natural light to pen-etrate through.

A translucent walk-down pathway is used to connect the cafe and the cinemas.

The theatres are in a sequence of three, cladded with opaque textured red material, to block any source of light. The first block from the pathway is a outdoor performing area, with a 360 degree sitting area, half sheltered and half exposed to the nature.

A staircase is there to connect to the plaza on the adjacent site. A beautiful view of the phenomenal water fountain can be seen as people walk up the staircase.
