Texas Winds Musicians 2010-11 Season

“Fiddlin’ Man” Tom Demer performs

for nursing home residents

“My regrets go out to all the residents who missed the Texas

Winds concert on February 8th. You may never know how much

fun it is just to fiddle away your time. Tom Demer, who

entertained us, is a violist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra;

however, his favorite instrument is the fiddle. He was the best I

have ever heard and that has meaning coming from an 83-

year old music lover. Even if you dislike classical music you

would have loved his program; even if you dislike the fiddle you

would have loved his program and if you appreciate real

natural talent you would have really loved his program. I think

everyone who heard him felt that they had a $500.00 concert

seat. Just remember his name and don't ever miss another

opportunity to enjoy this extremely talented musician and

entertainer. Thank you Texas Winds!”

“Just for You” Concerts

Dear Cathy,

“As you know, I have resided in a nursing facility for over thirty years. I have been honored with numerous "Just for You" concerts, and I have felt uplifted

by each musician and their performances. This morning I am still smiling as I think of how wonderful it was to have a musical Valentine's gift. Thank you,

thank you, thank you!” ~ Jane

Hi, Victor,

”I just talked to Mom and she so appreciated and enjoyed your playing. I know it meant a lot to her. I am happy that I finally thought of a gift for her

that was something she could really enjoy. These last couple of years have been quite an upheaval and change for her and she manages to find small pleasures in her daily existence. She hasn't been out and about in

the world in almost two years - other than to be in the ER or ICU at the hospital. So, I'm glad for her to have a bit of cheer that is a very special

treat. Anyway, thanks again for your time and talents and for giving her an experience that brought so much pleasure. Otherwise, her days pretty much run together - one being not much different than the next.” ~

All the best, Jan
