Greetings everyone from the Colorado area:
We hope everyone has had a great summer, and that many of you are planning a trip to Tucson
in October for Standards! Registration is still available. The Denver area hosted a well attended summer picnic/gathering at the studio of Denver artist, Jerr
Simpson, in July. Many thanks to Jerry for his time and generosity in sharing his studio and presenting an artist talkto the assembled group. His studio was a quintessential cabinet of curiosities lled with unique collection
ranging from antique toys to various shades of lint rolls out of a clothes dryer all meticulously organized and
catalogued. These items, which were mostly salvaged, were transformed into wonderful fun art objects in hi
studio. We had an amazing time learning about the artist and discussing his creative process (including dumpste
diving). And, last but not least, we had a great time having a picnic together.
Denver area efforts to sponsor a two-day workshop with Don Glaister for this fall been postponed unti
springtime. Details to follow.
Please contact us with your ideas for upcoming presentations, workshops and events. We would love to
hear from you.

The Guild Standards meeting is nearly upon us. I look forward to seeing Tucson for the first time, as wel
as hearing Jeff Peachey and Michael Burke speak.
Our chapter is having a gathering at the Crandall Historical Printing Museum. The meeting is on
Wednesday, September 19, at 6:30 pm. The museum is located at 275 East Center Street, in Provo. Please
