SanitationWe see that baths and showers are a major part of the consumption, the water used through a shower is less dirty, we could use it again as a toilet flush.A normal person uses up to 50m3 of water per year.

Heating System• Hot water heating

systems are built around the premise of radiant heat. Water is heated by a boiler and then circulated throughout a building via a series of pipes that heat radiators. The radiators distribute the heat.

Cooking and drinking water

• We only use 7% of water (of the total water we use per day) in the kitchen to cook . And we use only 1% per day of water to drink, this is not a lot.

Housework

• If you use a washing machine do you know how many liters do you use per machine ? Well you use from 80 liters to 160 liters …(11% of the water ) That’s a lot, so don’t wash when you don’t really need to !

• A dishwasher uses 20 liters of water …(6% of the water)

• 93% of water is used to clean and to wash ourselves …

• You use 8% of the water for your car washing and some other washing …

Swimming pool & GarderingTo find the amount of water

which is in a swimming pool, you have to use this formula : Lenght x Width x Depth = Water volume. For example, in a swimming pool with 18 meters of lenght, 8 meters of width and 1.5 meters of depth, the water volume would be: 18 x 8 x 1,5 = 216 cubic meters which makes 216.000 liters.

The gardering water represents 7% of households’ water use. Instead of using drinkable water, you could use a bucket to keep the rain to water plants.

Good advice

• Take a shower instead of a bath

• When you wash dishes, don’t let the water drip

•Use your washing machine only when it’s full of clothes.• Clog every leak as soon as possible

Conclusion

Water is essential for life, with no water , we would not survive. It is used in nearly everything we do, we use it to wash things, heat the houses, have fun and more.

If water ever became hard to find, the humanity would have major problems, that’s why we must do our best to preserve it !
