Catalog for Live and Silent Auction for the Franciscan Montessori Earth School. Live auction to be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Admission by ticket only. Contact me if you would like to attend. Silent auction items are displayed in the school's hallways. This is the school's major fundraising event and proceeds go to support school programs such as student scholarships.

The Deschutes is one of the great fly-fishing rivers in the Pacific Northwest and the world. Now you can have a taste of its challenges when you go angling with author Chris Santella ("Fifty Places to Fly Fish Before You Die", "Fifty Favorite Fly Fishing Tales") and Geoff Roach, Region Director at the Trust for Public Lands. You will leave Portland before the sun rises with coffee and pastries with the trusty drift boat in tow. Depending on when you go, the focus will be on Redsides (the Deschutes' resident native rainbow trout), steelhead, or both. Chris and Geoff provide tackle and waders. After a morning's fishing there will be a BBQ, libations, then more fishing until dark. While there is no guarantee you'll catch fish, you'll surely enjoy the beauty of the river. If you are new to fly fishing, Chris and Geoff will be happy to provide instruction. Get your bidding sticks ready – it is time to create some fish tales of your own. The Franciscan Montessori Earth School and St. Francis Academy offers these auction items in good faith and in full accordance with the descriptions given to us by each donor. Please note there are many donated items not listed in this catalog because they are included in our Balloon Bonanza Game on Auction night, May 30th.

Auction Rules Registration and Bid Numbers Each person attending the Live Auction receives a bidder number. Couples will share the same bidder number. You may use this number on the Silent Auction bid sheets. If not attending the Live Auction, your name and phone number on the bid sheet are required

Checking Out Your Purchases Check-Out for the Live Auction commences on that evening. You can pay for and pick up your items in the check out area of the lobby. FMES families have the option of paying for and picking up their items the following week. You will need to stop by the development office next week, where you can review your receipt and pick up your items. If you to speed up the process, please have your credit card swiped at Check-In, your payment will be automatically applied. All sales are final and can be made by cash, check (payable to FMES Auction), VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

Redeeming Items & Expirations Please note any restrictions on the bid sheets. Assume that most services are based upon availability and gift certificates have a one-year expiration date unless indicated. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to redeem his or her item by contacting the donor directly. It is advisable to make contact with the donor as soon as possible to avoid scheduling conflicts, avoid delays, and fulfill any requirements needed to activate or validate your auction purchase.

No statement during the course of the auction shall be deemed a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability. All items sold at the auction are to be undertaken at the sole risk of the purchaser. Tax Deductibility According to the IRS regulations, only the amount of the purchase price which exceeds the fair market value of your purchases are tax deductible. Values stated on the receipts are estimates only and must be validated for IRS purposes. The Earth School can give you guidance on how to determine fair market values on those items that you wish to research, however such research is your responsibility. Our Tax ID number will be on all receipts.
