Schematic Capture and circuit Simulation are two

essential tools in computer aided circuit analysis anddesign

Computer aided design makes it possible to deal withproblems which are computationally very complex and

lengthy without the aid of a computer

Simulation software is part of mordern engineeringpractice

This practicum provides an opportunity to gain someskills in using these tools, which are used in manysubsequent modules

How to create a new project?

Choose new project from the file menu of OrcadCapture

Make sure the project is using Mixed analogue and

AD, otherwise your project will not simulate

Name the project as follows: S-studentno-PRAC1,e.g. S24242424PRAC1

Choose as the location for your project the driveD and the directory EBN111Results. If thedirectory doesnt exist, create it

A demonstration of how to complete the different

types of simulations (in class)

This work is also covered in your textbook appendix

You may download the demonstration software fromthe EBN 122 website for working at home, thesoftware is available in any of the engineeringcomputing laboratories

All Practicum's are completed in groups of two (2)
