Seeding CriteriaTournament seeding shall be conducted separately for each weight class in the pre-tournamentCoaches’ Meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, based upon the following criteria:
1) Head-to-head performance among participants entered in that same weight class2) Performance against common opponents this season3) Performance in prior NCAA tournament(s), with priority given to that same weight class*4) Performance in prior East Regional tournament(s), with priority given to that same weight class*5) Overall season record and performance, with consideration given to quality of competition**Also used as criteria for post-championship Wild Card selection, as noted below.
The number of seeds for each weight class shall be left to the discretion of the head coaches. Theseeding criteria may be overridden by the head coaches due to extenuating circumstances. In theevent of a tie, the Tournament Director shall cast the deciding vote.
Games/Protest CommitteeA games/protest committee will be selected in the pre-tournament Coaches’ Meeting at 7:00 p.m. onSaturday, March 8. The committee will consist of five people including: the Tournament Director, oneofficial, and three head coaches. The Tournament Director will chair the committee. A representativeof the NCAA will serve in lieu of one of the head coaches, if available. An alternate official will bedesignated in the event that the first official on the committee is involved in the protest itself. Twoalternate head coaches will be designated in the event that one or two of the head coaches is a partyto a protest.
Protest RulesCoaches may only protest errors in recording of points or match results, and non-judgment errors inthe application of rules. The coach must inform the official scorer and the referee of his intent toprotest the bout before the bout sheet is removed from the scorer’s table. The referee will note theintent to protest the bout on the bout sheet and will notify the opposing wrestler not to leave the areauntil the matter is resolved. Protests must be filed with the tournament committee on a protest sheetwithin 10 minutes following the bout. Protest sheets will be available at the head table. Film or video-tape may not be used. A $100.00 fee must be submitted with the protest, with the fee being refundedif the protest is upheld.
Wild Card Selection Process and CriteriaOne Wild Card entry shall be selected by the head coaches in the post-championship meeting, withthe intent being to send the best and most deserving wrestler to the NCAA National Championships.All head coaches will be permitted to nominate one Wild Card entry. In order for a participant to be eli-gible for nomination, he must have 1) finished in second place, or 2) been seeded first or second.After all eligible nominations have been submitted, the head coaches will vote after consideration ofthe following criteria:
1) Performance in prior NCAA tournament(s), with priority given to that same weight class*2) Performance in prior East Regional tournament(s), with priority given to that same weight class*3) Overall season record and performance, with consideration given to quality of competition
In the event of a tie, the Tournament Director shall cast the deciding vote.
Three (3) additional wrestlers will be selected, using the same criteria, and designated as Alternate 1,Alternate 2, and Alternate 3; for the purpose of replacing any qualifier(s) who is/are unable to competein the National Championships.

Medical Check
All Championship participants will be examined by a physician(s) or trainer(s) for communicable dis-eases prior to weigh-ins. Failure to report for medical examination during the designated time willresult in disqualification from the Championship. The Championship physician(s) and trainer(s) will bedesignated by the host institution and will examine the skin of all participants. Results of the examina-tions will be reported by the physician(s) or trainer(s) to the chair of the governing subcommittee ordesignated representative, in the event that it requires disqualification from the Championship.
Medical examinations will be conducted according to NCAA guidelines (see NCAA 2008 WrestlingRules and Interpretations: Appendix D “Medical Examinations”, page WA-14). A decision to disqualifya participant due to a skin infection will be made by the designated physician(s) or trainer(s), perNCAA guidelines (see NCAA 2008 Wrestling Rules and Interpretations: Appendix D “Guidelines forDisposition of Skin Infections”, pages WA-15 to WA-18).
Weigh-ins
Two certified scales will be provided, and will be available to the participants beginning at 2:00 p.m. onSaturday, March 8. Participants will not be permitted to weigh-in without first clearing the medicalcheck. Weigh-ins will be conducted by designated officials, who will enforce the weigh-in proceduresas described in the official wrestling rules handbook.

ParkingGeneral parking is available at several locations surrounding the Vines Center (see campus map).
Bus Driver InstructionsFor the Saturday, March 8, scheduled practices in the Wrestling Complex and the Sunday, March 9,weigh-ins at the same location, participants must be dropped off and picked up from the back of theWilliams Football Operations Center parking lot. Participants will then walk across the football field tothe Wrestling Complex. Buses must then park in the designated bus parking lots. For theChampionship on Sunday, March 9, participants must be dropped off in the front of the Vines Centeron University Blvd, and then buses must park in the designated bus parking lots. (See enclosed mapwith event facilities and bus parking marked in yellow.)
TicketingCredentials will be provided for each team’s participants, coaches (4), managers (3), and trainer (1).Everyone else will be required to have a ticket. Contact the Flames Ticket Office at 434-582-SEAT(7328) or [email protected] for more information. One ticket will be issued for all sessions.

Directions to Liberty University
Northbound on Rt. 29 - Take 460 E to the exit for Candler's Mtn. Rd / Liberty University. At the stopsign, make a right. Go to the first light and make a left onto University Blvd. Stay straight through thelight and enter Liberty's campus.
Southbound on Rt. 29 – Take 460 W to the Candler's Mtn. Rd. / University Blvd. exit. At light make leftand enter Liberty's campus.
