MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

I am pleased to present our listing of research and scholarship

at the University Libraries. The Libraries’ faculty are routinely

involved in inquiry advancing our discipline’s knowledge base.

We recognize the importance of integrating other disciplines into

our work and applying theory and knowledge to meet campus

needs. Making our ideas public, evidenced by the examples in this

scholarly record, provides an opportunity to build on each other’s

contributions and create dialogue with others in our profession.

Publishing journal articles, writing books or book chapters, and

delivering presentations document our contribution to the ongoing

advancement of librarianship and other fields.

The scholarship listed herein demonstrates a high level of

intellectual activity and contributes to a variety of disciplines. The

breadth of topics includes instruction techniques, user studies,

collection management, and Mariology. This report demonstrates

the University Libraries’ commitment to scholarly activity and

exemplifies our desire to rethink ideas, systems, and theories.

This report is evidence of the outstanding scholarly contributions

of the faculty of the University Libraries. I am pleased to work

with such an accomplished and collegial group of faculty.
