At Wells Fargo,we know this…People are our Competitive Advantage!
You set us apart from our competitors and make it
possible for us to build lifelong relationships with our
customers. It is you who innovate; create ways to get
better – faster, and who execute with excellence. And
when we think of our vision – to be the First Choice,
Proud Contributors who Continuously Innovate are
Always On – we know it’s you who make our vision
a reality.
That’s exactly why we need to recognize team members. Day in and day out,
each of us should be on the lookout for team members who embody our vision
and values and take time to recognize them for their excellence. We know
from important sources like Voice of the Team and our Portal survey that
being recognized for the contributions we make is extremely important.
In 2006, there are many great ways to recognize team members. It can be
done informally, for example, with special celebrations like bringing pizza in for
the team on days that are extraordinarily challenging or rewarding. On the more
formal side, team members can be nominated for special awards like Service
Excellence and Team Excellence. And, let’s not forget about our exciting annual
Sales and Service Conference. In the end, it’s what we do each day to thank
others for the work they do that has the potential to mean so much.
So let’s recognize our team for all they do for our customers and for each other.
This information explains how. Please use it as a guide for recognizing our team
members and celebrating excellence.

“Our team members are our competitiveadvantage”–Dick Kovacevich
Think of recognition as a three-tiered pyramid.
Locally, team members may earn recognition
through informal (Tier 1) programs designed
specifically for their organization.Tier two is
Formal Recognition and is available
through our On-the-Spot, Service
Excellence, Gold Coin, or Team
Excellence nominations and awards. The last tier is the Sales and
Service Conference where our top winners earn company-wide
recognition.
So what is the process? How do we recognize? What
are the categories?
Good questions – let’s start with an attitude of gratitude by frequently
thanking our fellow team members, managers and business partners.
Thank you notes are part of the formal program but can be informal
as well.
Starting with Informal you can “Take Five”or take advantage of
informal recognition created with, by and for your team. There are
two locations for Informal recognition ideas and support. Please visit
the TIG/CSSO People Portal and click on Team Member Recognition
and the Wells Fargo corporate recognition site at
http://teamworks.portal.wellsfargo.com/portal/sige/tmr2/menuitem
for links and recognition tools and ideas.
Another opportunity for Informal recognition, currently residing
on the TIG Home Page (http://tig.wfs.homestead) is Team Excellence.
We are developing a Team Excellence award in our formal program
and hope to roll it out 3rd or 4th Quarter this year. The TIG Team
Excellence nominations and awards are reviewed and selected by
the senior team.
Formal Recognition Program on the People Portal
Take Five minutes to send a Thank You Note on-line.Managers may
now be copied on e-cards as well.
If a team member performs above expected responsibilities on a
significant project, task or accomplishment – nominate them for an
On The Spot award. On The Spot awards can be given for helping
a fellow team member meet an important deadline or enabled a
project to finish on time with exceptional quality.
Do you know a team member that goes the extra mile and consistently
provides creative ideas and results that make your team more effective
and productive? Nominate them for Service Excellence. A team
member, partner or manager may nominate you for Service
Excellence for your excellent attitude and consistent, proactive
approach to improving the quality and efficiency of your team
results. If your manager approves, a divisional recognition coordinator
sends to a selection committee for review – and awards are
announced quarterly.
Does a manager you report to or work with demonstrate extraordi-
nary people management skills and perform significantly above
expected levels in the areas of service, leadership or diversity while
achieving business goals? Nominate them for Management
Excellence. Nominations are reviewed quarterly and Awards are
given annually.
Catch a senior manager’s attention by demonstrating exemplary
contributions and service to your team and the business – and you
could receive a Gold Coin! The Gold Coin is not actually gold but it is
when it comes to the Sales and Service Conference as receiving one
makes you eligible for the trip!

Sales and Service Conference (SSC)Each year, Community Banking holds a national recognition
event worthy of our extraordinary achievers:The Sales
and Service Conference. Here, you will be honored and
recognized at a company-wide event. You’ll meet fellow top
performers and gain insight into the scope of Wells Fargo.
And to top it off, you’ll enjoy days of recreation, relaxation,
entertainment, and inspiration!
Winners are selected in part by the number of points earned from formal awards for the
current recognition year or as selections made by the senior team for:
• Diversity Champion • Captain’s Pick • Best Practice • Special Invitation
As you can see, as a team member in the Technology Information Group, you have several
opportunities to be recognized for the value you bring to your team, the organization and
Wells Fargo. Remember – points are only one element of the selection criteria.
Ready, Set, Go!
All Wells Fargo team members may use this program to recognize TIG/CSSO/WFFIS
team members.
For details on this program – see the grid on pages 6 & 7
To nominate a TIG/CSSO/WFFIS team member for formal recognition or for tips on how to
nominate, resources and contacts, visit the People Portal at:
http://wfspeopleportal.homestead.wellsfargo.com/portal/site and select
Team Member Recognition.
The BEST nominations are clear, specific and detail a team member’s above and beyond
contributions. Well written nominations enable scoring committees to more easily review
and determine award winners.

Technology Information Group (TIG) Team Members,
We hope this brochure will assist you in understanding and making recognition
a part of your everyday work-life and our TIG culture.
In our 2004 Voice of the Team survey, you spoke and we heard. This brochure is
another effort to let you know how important your “voice” is to the success of
the Technology Information Group and Wells Fargo.
We are very proud of the inroads TIG has made and your contribution to not only
the success of new initiatives – but the success of the entire corporation.Through
each and every one of you, our delivery of world class technology services and
ability to meet our customers needs enable us to be the First Choice of our business
partners. We celebrate YOU, as a Proud Contributor, Continuously Innovating
while bringing an Always On attitude to the forefront of our business.
We will work hard this year on diversity and continuing our recognition efforts at
more grass roots levels such as TAKE FIVE.You’ll see Part II of the campaign, but
we know many of you continue to Take Five and use this to show how much we
value each other.
Shortly, you will have another opportunity to be heard in this year’s Voice of the
Team survey. We encourage you to respond to the survey and also to provide
any ideas or thoughts on winning the Race for Recognition!
Coming soon – TIG Annual Recognition and Business Conference.
