L’automne dernier, le conseil d’admi-nistration de la Coop. Santé Aylmera lancé un concours afin de trouverun nom pour son bulletin qui sert àtenir les gens au courant de ses di-verses activités. Les participantsétaient libres de choisir parmi lesnoms proposés (Ensemble, Maindans la main et Collectivement) ouproposer un nom de leur choix. Nousavons reçu un bon nombre de répon-ses et parmi celles-ci, le CA a choisi,comme vous l’avez sûrement remar-qué, le nom suivant : Écho Santé ouHealth Echo qui a été soumis parmonsieur Jacques Morin. M. Morinrecevra un certificat d’achat de 50,00$offert conjointement par la coop et leRestaurant-Terrasse Le Créno.

Health Coop to better the health services in the area. The photo shows a few of theformer and recent members of the board receiving the tribute. On the photograph,

pour ses efforts dans l’amélioration des services de santé dans le secteur Aylmer.Sur la photo, quelques-uns des membres actuels et anciens du conseil d’administra-tion: de gauche à droite à partir du deuxième, M. Un projet de collaboration entre laCoop Santé Aylmer et l’Université duQuébec en Outaouais (UQO) vient defaire l’objet d’une entente qui prévoit quedes étudiantes du baccalauréat ensciences infirmières à l’Université duQuébec en Outaouais fassent leur stageà la Coop Santé Aylmer.

Formule unique et innovatrice, les sta-giaires accompagneront dans leurs acti-vités quotidiennes des personnes souf-frant de maladies chroniques et suiviespar les médecins de la Coop Santé Ayl-mer.

Ces étudiantes auront l’occasion d’ac-compagner un patient qui vit un pro-blème de santé chronique (diabète, fi-brose kystique, asthme, etc.) et d’ap-prendre comment ce dernier fait deschoix importants pour atteindre une cer-taine zone de confort dans son expé-rience de vie.

Elles pourront, par exemple, accom-pagner un patient diabétique qui fait sonépicerie, l’assister pour la préparation deses repas, le suivre dans ses loisirs, sesdémarches administratives et ses tâchesfamiliales, etc. Somme toute, les stagiai-res seront à  l’écoute du client tout aulong de ses activités quotidiennes et luioffriront le soutien nécessaire dans sesprises de décision vers un mieux-être.

The Aylmer Health Coop and theUniversité du Québec en Outaouais(UQO) have signed an agreementwherein nursing students at the bache-lor’s level will do part of their practicumwith patients of the Coop.

Such an alliance is very important forboth parties since they both share thesame concerns in regards to participa-tion, taking charge and responsibilityfor the client/family/community It is withthese objectives in mind that the firststudents started their practicum thismonth.

Part of their tasks will be to accom-pany a patient with a chronic diseasesuch as diabetes, cystic fibrosis,asthma, etc., and by the same processlearn how these people are confrontedwith important decisions that conditiontheir quality of life.

Practically speaking, the studentswill, for example, accompany a diabeticwhen he or she goes to the grocerystore, assist in the preparation ofmeals, follow her in the leisure activi-ties, her administrative and familytasks, etc. All in all, the students willfollow the patient in her/his daily activi-ties and will offer the necessary supportto make proper decisions for his/herwell-being.
