• Winflex can be installed by CD, or

• By downloading from Digital Office. The path is DO to tools/resources to illustration software where you will be asked what your loading situation is.

• In addition, when the CD is installed, on the second page, there are a series of options on the left available that you can print out as reference guides for using Winflex, if you need them. One is a ‘Getting started guide’ of 31 pages and the other concerns installation instructions.

Loading Winflex


Internet UpdatesYou can perform an Internet Update by either:

1. Clicking on the Icon or

2. By going to Options and clicking on Check for Internet Updates


Setting Agent Defaults


Setting (other) DefaultsChoose Options/Settings1. You will then get a pop up box that has several tabs.

2. This is where you can also set your Internet Update to automatically occur periodically


Company & Product Click on PRODUCT LIST

1. A pop up will appear – choose either Individual or Multi-client long term care.

2. The code to illustrate individual lives is “GE”.

PLEASE NOTE, to have the ability to quote multiple lives in approved states, you MUST choose the Multi Client option. The ability to illustrate multiple lives is dependent on having the correct company code to enable this. (The code will be given to all B to B trained agents.)


Creating A Case You can begin entering data in any space1. Be sure to page ALL the way down to input all appropriate sections. If you don’t complete all

sections needed to complete the input, an error message will generate when you want to print or view the illustration. You can do this by moving the bar on the far right side of the page

2. You can then switch to the second tab (or any order, for that matter) to input your policy/rider options


Saving A Case You can either click on the save icon or click on “File” on the menu bar and then choose “Save”1. PLEASE BE SURE TO SAVE EACH CASE BEFORE GOING ON THE THE NEXT ONE!!

2. Your most recently saved cases can then be seen in the left menu/margin


Viewing A Case 1. Click on the view icon and the illustration will run and then be displayed on your screen. If you

have missed something in your input, an error message will appear. It is a good idea to ‘view’ before you print. If there is an error, you can correct it before printing.

2. If you wish to go back to the input screen, simply click on the Input icon and you will be returned


Printing A Case 1. Click on the print icon or choose ‘File’ from the menu bar and then choose ‘print’. Or you can

use the print option tab on the right. If you want to select the pages you print, deselect the ‘all’ box.

2. You will then see a pop up asking which pages you wish to print

3. Click on the output you are selecting and then click “Add”

4. That item will then be added to the selected reports list on the right; Click print and you are done

5. If the case doesn’t print and an “invalid” message appears, click the “view” icon in the top tool bar and it will tell you what the error is.


Emailing A Case You can email directly from Winflex

You can choose to email the CASE, and that will allow another user to run your case OR you can email the illustration output. Simply click on the e-mail icon and then choose your option.


Illustrating a Multi-life Case To illustrate a multi-life case, indicate this selection from the product list.1. Fill in all pertinent plan information – you will need to scroll down the entire page to do so.

2. Always SAVE the case. (Company Code will be given to all B to B trained agents.)

Creating a Multi-life Case A pop up appears for you to add the individual’s informationOnce completed, click on ‘Add’, it will then add another another client to the right, you will need to page right to be able to see additional individuals you are adding to the case. After you have added the last person, do not click “add’ again, the system will not illustrate, it thinks you are adding another person.

You can also use the horizontal bar at the bottom of the “Client Information” screen to move back and forth among lives.


Illustrating a Multi-life Case If all information has been input correctly, click on “Calculate” and the total premium for all lives, with all discounts you have selected, will show.


FAQs • When I printed out the client input page, it is all ‘jumbled’, what

happened?

This is a print driver issue; have the user call the Help Desk (800-727-4896) to get assistance with setting their print driver to fix this problem.

• I already use Winflex, how can I just load the LTC software?

Simply do an Internet Update on or after 11/14/05, and you will have LTC!

• I am trying to create a multi-client case, but don’t see that option, how do I do it?

First, be sure you have selected Multi Client LTC from the product selection area

If you HAVE done that and still cannot find it, be sure you are using the appropriate company code
