Eisen, a cprtified Water TreatInent Technician II, is studYIng to become a certified Water Technician III, a goal shp hopes to reach within the next 18 months. Eispn has worked as the water treatment plant techniCIan in the Carrizozo plant for the last six months. She has made presentations to the town council about the quality of the water she is respon- sible for maintaining. Eisen also keeps the town council updated on re- search she is doing for government grants to up- grade the existing water treatment plant, as well as the waste water treatment plant the town is in the process of finalizing plans for building. Eisen re- cently purchased a home here in Carrizozo, moving from Nogal. It was quite hot in the town hall due to the swamp cooler not working. The sweltering -tempera- tures might have had an influence in trustee's deci- sion to approve purchasing a new swamp cooler from Holly Mechanics of misconduct of federal pris- oners at LCDC. Vega said officer Eddy O'Brien has experience with federal prisoners and officer W.R. Green had riot training as a military police officer. "If we work together as a team we will be more prepared to reduce any potential for violence," Vega said. Last week. representa­tives the US Marshall's Ser­vice came to inspect theLCDC and to talk with thecount¥ manager. .
