SANY Reach Stackers are engineered with power, rugged construction, operator visibility and maneuverability. Designed to easily handle 20-, 30- and 40-foot standard containers, SANY Reach Stackers can hoist and place up to 50 U.S. tons with precision.

A long boom allows stacking of containers five high and three deep. Load-sensing hydraulics deliver precise power

on demand, making the most of every operating hour. A patented sliding counterweight enhances load stability without increasing machine

weight. The sliding cab and expansive cab glass provide commanding views that increase operator confidence and reduce fatigue. Smartly placed controls and climate control make these reach stackers easy to operate.

Tube stacking, log stacking and tilting attachments extend the machine’s versatility. Whether working in a port, intermodal yard or rail facility, SANY Reach Stackers get the job done.

4 | Container Reach Stacker

Fixed-Shaft Power-Shift Transmission

Equipped with modulated dual-mode transmissions, SANY Reach Stackers can operate in automatic or manual shifting mode. A de-clutching feature disengages the transmission when parked. An engine-mounted torque converter and electronically controlled hydraulics make driving smooth and easy.

Turbocharged Cummins diesel engines provide clean and efficient power to all SANY Reach Stackers. Standard features include electronic monitoring of diagnostic and maintenance systems, fuel and water separation and protection systems for the engine and transmission.

Axle

All models feature heavy-load Kessler or AxleTech drive axles for longevity and durability. Numerous air-sealed wet brakes prevent contamination and reduce wear. The parking brake utilizes a driveshaft-mounted disc brake.

KEYFEATURES


Mobile Counterweight

SANY’s patented moving counterweight system improves the hoisting ability and security of the SANY Reach Stacker while keeping weight to a minimum. This technology results in a lighter, more flexible machine.

Mobile Cab Technology

The SANY Reach Stacker cab slides horizontally on tracks to increase operator visibility. This feature reduces operating costs by making steering and maintenance fast and convenient.

Spreader Protection System

The telescopic dual-beam top spreader features four hydraulically activated twistlocks for quick securing and release of containers. Indicator lights tell the operator when the spreader is seated properly, locked or unlocked.

Rollover Protection

If the load approaches the machine limit, the Reach Stacker only allows boom retraction and lowering. Should the machine continue to tip off balance, the rear counterweight joins with the hook plate and integrates with the rear axle.

Introduction

Extensive research and development has brought impressive lifting and stacking capability to the SANY line of Reach Stackers. In addition to a wide field of view, SANY Reach Stackers feature powerful independent steering pumps for easy maneuvering.

SANY’s Reach Stackers have a maximum capacity of 50 U.S. tons and are adaptable for standard 20-, 30- and 40-foot containers. A long boom allows the machine to stack containers three units deep by five units high. These qualities make the machine an exceptional choice for stacking, lifting and relocating containers at ports, railways and open storage grounds.

All SANY Reach Stackers feature a high-strength steel frame and chassis. The movable cab provides exceptional visibility and an ergonomic operating environment.

Intelligent System

Proprietary Technology Increases Reliability, Eases Troubleshooting and Improves Stability and Handling While many models currently on the market use vulnerable electronics – controls with numerous different relays, contact points and extensive cabling – SANY’s Reach Stacker integrates all systems with CAN-Bus technology.

CAN-Bus systems utilize looped communication networks to connect distant modules. In many ways, this standard is comparable to the “plug and play” technology popular in consumer electronics. SANY’s Reach Stacker incorporates redundant CAN-Bus technology to transfer data between the engine, transmission, pump valves and other vital components. The result is a highly efficient and reliable architecture that keeps the machine operational during non-critical alerts.

Faster, More Precise Information The SANY Reach Stacker’s onboard computer monitors nearly 800 measuring points 50 times per second. Should a fault arise, the high-definition display informs the operator and offers a diagnostic solution. This system allows technicians to quickly troubleshoot the machine. For example, if the engine temperature rises too high, an alert will display with instructions to add coolant or temporarily shut down the machine.

Greater Precision in Diagnostics While most computer systems only indicate which part of the machine has a problem, the SANY Reach Stacker reveals specific faulty components on the driver’s HD monitor. To minimize the risk of error, settings can be calibrated and adjusted within predetermined limits.

Standard for SANY, Options for OthersLong operating sessions require outstanding climate management. A standard feature on all SANY Reach Stackers, the Electronic Climate Control (ECC) system circulates filtered air at the temperature set by the operator.
