The lodge has been developedwith the environment and people oftheir community in mind. As water isscarce in Rodrigues, Bakwa Lodge re-cuperates rainwater, which is filteredand pumped to its own treatmentplant and transformed into drinkingwater. “Grey water” is used to waterthe garden set with plants that blendperfectly into the natural endemicenvironment. Few flowers ornate the garden that respect naturalhabitat, yet the garden is lush withfilaos, “baume de Rodrigues”, bakwatrees, frangipani… and other robustcreepers.

The lodge comprises of 1 double

room, 6 suites & a large beachfront villa. This villa offers accommodation

for two couples with 4 additional bedsnested in the mezzanine enablingaccommodation for family fun.

Spacious, light filled interiorsfeature concrete floors, louvershutters and marine decks that createan island ambience. All spacioussuites feature large beds with superiorcotton linens, mini bar, en–suitebathrooms and outdoor showers alongwith daily housekeeping and laundryservice on request.

Although all rooms are equippedwith air conditioners, one will probablychoose to sleep with the caress of theocean breeze through the shutters.

All rooms are tastefully decoratedwith Rodrigan artefacts and remnantsof broken discarded Rodrigan fishingboats, creating a unique atmosphere ofunderstated and comfortable luxury.
