3 Year Olds You can receive funding for your child to attend an approved Pre-‐School or Maintained Nursery on the term after their 3rd birthday. They can still continue with their 2 year old funding up until they start at their 3 year old provider.

How to access your child’s 2 Year Old Funding
and how it fits into their journey to school
The Government has recently introduced funded places for 2 Year old children (who meet certain criteria). Children’s Centres have the responsibility to process the applications and make parents aware of what is on offer for their child. The diagram below shows how the 2 year funding fits into the other parts to your child’s ‘journey to school’. It should be pointed out that all of this funding is at the early stages of being allocated and that only certain pre-‐schools and nurseries are able to offer these funded places. Please check with us, when you apply for your child’s funding, which settings are currently approved and available to you.
