Success in her Destiny PARILLA breeder, Karri Wilson has a nice litter of
eight pups on the South Australian list this week, by the
ill-fated stud success High Earner (May 2007 Collision

getting litters through the wonders of modern science
and frozen semen.
The two dogs and six bitches in the litter are from
the very well bred, dual Group race winner, Oakvale
Destiny (July 2012 Vapour Whirl x Foot Luce), whose
good producing dam is by Hallucinate x Scarlett (Black
Shiraz x Hotshow Sarah) and worth recalling, Hotshow

She is from her dam’s only litter, an outstanding
litter of nine named, which included Footluce Dancer,

Group 3 South Australian Oaks and also won the
Geelong Oaks, finished second in the Group 2
Shootout, Group 2 Cranbourne Cup and Group 3 Brian
Johnstone Memorial and finished third in the Group 2
WA Oaks and Group 1 Adelaide Cup.
Her 17 wins and 16 placings earned connections
stakes totalling $279,435.
Given her outstanding pedigree and record on the
track I would imagine this litter will attract enormous
interest, especially the six bitches, with future breeding
in mind.

This week’s Greyhound of the week is:
BESSY BOO
OUTSTANDING NSW Sprinter Bessy Boo (March
2012 Bekim Bale x My Black Bess) has been retired.
After tearing a back muscle at Wentworth Park last
Friday night.
He was our Greyhound of the Week a few weeks
back when he won his 34th race at Wentworth Park,
and we thought it only fitting he should get the nod
again this week after his racing career has come to an
end.
Whelped on March 2012, he raced 158 times, for
the outstanding record of 44 wins, 27 seconds, 28
thirds, and $337,311 in prizemoney.
He is from a very handy litter which included
Bunundi, Darkest Knight, Inner City, Mamzelle Penny,
My Black Pearl, Petra and Tangier.
His versatility on the track showed with him
winning 31 races over 520 metres at Wentworth Park
(29.58), where he also won three times over 720 metres
(42.33), four times over 535 metres at Richmond
(30.61), where he also won three times over 618 metres
(35.54) and also won over 630 metres at Nowra
(36.55), 600 metres at Canberra (35.03) and 600 metres
at Gosford (24.87).
It was obvious he was going to be something
special early in his career, when he won three starts,
over 535 metres at Richmond, with three seconds in his
first seven starts.
It wasn’t long before he started his amazing
winning run over 520 metres at Wentworth Park,
where he was to go on and win another 30 times.
After three 520 metre wins at Wentworth Park,
he stepped up to win three times over 618 metres at
Richmond, then won over 720 metres at Wentworth
Park at his 30th start, then two runs later was back
winning over 520 metres (29.71 and 29.79).
He won the Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic and
made seven other group finals.
His stud career will start shortly and I hope he
gets plenty of opportunities from breeders, he should.

Thirty Talks draws box one in $145,000
Silver Chief Final By George Farrugia
Queensland chaser Thirty Talks will be aiming to win
the fourth Group race of his career – and second at
Group 1 level – after drawing box one in Sunday
night’s $145,000 AJS Corporation Silver Chief (525m)
at The Meadows.
The son of Where’s Pedro and Unfinished
showcased his outstanding will to win with a last stride
victory in the last of the four semi finals, overcoming a
wide draw and interference in running to score in
30.07. The brindle chaser has won his last three starts
when beginning from box one, and will be the
greyhound to beat in the first Group 1 final of 2017.
Victory would push prizemoney to almost $400,000.
The Tony Brett-trained chaser will face off
against some greyhounds in scintillating form,
including Lightning Frank, who lived up to his name
with a devastating, Best of Night 29.66 semi-final
effort.
The son of Black Magic Opal and Kirabilli Abbie
set up the win with splits of 5.10 and a flying 17.54
and, just like in his heat win, will have to overcome
box five in Saturday’ final.
Powerhouse sprinter Reefton Treasure was the
second fastest semi winner, sitting behind early leader
Duty Free before bolting away to score in 29.80.
The son of Turanza Bale and Pindari Bale will have to
overcome box seven in the final, with most of his
recent wins coming when drawn closer to the fence.
Matt Machine (box four) has qualified for his
second Group 1 after a gutsy 30.04 victory in the first
of the semi finals. The son of SH Avatar and Love To
Rock finished seventh in last year’s Melbourne Cup
final.
The History of the Silver Chief Classic The AJS Corporation Silver Chief Classic is certainly
one out of the box and is sure to produce yet another
champion who will go on to great heights; as have
previous winners.
The Great Silver Chief after winning 1939 Waterloo Cup
The Classic is one steeped in tradition, first being run in
1964. Directors of the Melbourne Greyhound Racing
association saw fit to name The Classic after the greyhound
“Silver Chief” who was whelped in 1936 and owned by Ray
Herbert. Silver Chief was a “Waterloo Cup” winner in 1939
and performed admirably on the speed coursing circuit as
well. He raced in both Melbourne and Sydney and was
keenly sought after for stud duties once his racing career
was finished.
The cream of racing have won this event referred to as the
Derby of Greyhound Racing.
Champions such as Plunder Road, Black Diro, Satan's
Legend, Tempix, Chariot Supreme, Ginger, Light of Fire
and Awesome Assassin to name a few. Many have gone on
to produce sons who have also won the Classic.
The mighty Tempix won in 1978 then produced sons who
won in (81) Tempix Image and Bold Assail in 1982.
Australian super sire Chariot Supreme won the race in
record time in 1983. His progeny took out the honours in
1986 (Hopeful Supreme), 1989 (Autumn Chariot) and 1991
(Bomber Gleeson).
In recent years Light of Fire won in 1994 then produced
greats such as Awesome Assassin and Kantarn Bale.
Awesome Assassin went on to sire 2005 winner Ben’s Fury.
Leading Sire Primo Uno sired the 2009 & 2010 two winners
Fedex and Enry Walt.
In 2012 leading Victorian trainer Jason Thompson made it
five winners of the time honoured event when outsider
Godsend started an extraordinary year for the Peacedale
based mentor. He trained the winners of eleven Group races
and over 1.1 million dollars in prizemoney. His Silver Chief
record is a long way in front any other trainer in the history
of the race.
Only two champions have won the Silver Chief – Melbourne
Cup double Light of Fire in 1994 and Kantarn Bale in 1999.

IRELAND – ENGLAND SIRES LIST 2016
Droopy’s Scholari (April 2003 Droopys Kewell x
Little Diamond UK), whose dam is by Spiral Nikita
X Camelot Katie, was the top sire on the combined
English/Irish sires list for 2016.
According to sire ratings issued by greyhound-
data.com, he finished the year with 630 points, well
clear of Kinloch Brae who had 487.50 points and
Australian bred, Ace Hi Rumble with 248.50 points.
The greyhound-data.com ratings are calculated
by performances by greyhounds in top grade races only
and have long been the standard for international
reporting.
Droopys Scholari has an amazing 5,171 named
offspring on file at the time of writing and he has had
some success here over recent years with very limited
opportunities.
Note the success of Australian bred sires, and
their offspring through the list.
Next week we will have the 2016 US sires list.
REMOTE CONTROL COURSING LURE
TRAX 4WD modified, Soft fat tyres, sound
attracter, toy tow bar, 100kph
This car is not a small cheapie, the car is TRAX 4WD
Truck, however Graham Moscow from Greyhound
Gear calls it car.
The car must be safe and big enough so pups can't
drag off to the dam.
Theory is to course pups three to six months in a
pack, a maximum of four to five times.
Elite State lodge have coursed five litters this year
and found this method works 100%
Pups that chased in pack were all easy break ins.
Wheeler kennels purchased a car and Brendan
Wheeler said he was very happy with it.
Longwood trainer Michael Barry has just ordered
a car and Greyhound Gear are currently modifying it for
him.
Graham has a video of pups chasing the car,
which he will email the link to, if you contact him.
I have had a look at the video and it won’t take
long to convince you what a fantastic product this is,
and just how keenly the pups chase after it.
Looks certain to be a valuable tool for breeders to
educate their young pups with, and from the look of it,
it will make the breakers job much easier when the pups
go to him, or if you are breaking your own pups in.
Why not give Graham a call and have a chat with
him about this amazing product.
He can then answer any of your question, discuss
pricing options, delivery time etc.
