    REGULATIONS

    • In many countries the offshore HSE regulations are based on the

     “Safety Case” concept

    • Safety Case concept is often ”non-prescriptive” but recognized

    standards should be applied.

    • Some countries have more prescriptive regulations or guidelines

    to the regulations

    • International conventions does apply in all countries

    • Some standards are mandatory from regulations – ”Code” 

    • Most standards are not mandatory

    • API, ISO, IP, EN, etc. are considered “recognised standards” 

    • Standards represents “best practice” and a lot of experience

    • Further they provide standardised approaches on design features
