With such altering dynamics, if one was to deliberate upon good governance; the strengthening of its framework, the

solidification of its foundation and the expansion in all arenas has been entrusted with the brigade of Company

Secretaries. The words of Hon'ble Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman at the

celebrations of 53rd Foundation Day of ICSI that "Company Secretaries should look beyond their existing set of

responsibilities and partner with the Ministries and the Regulatory Authorities in easing compliances for the tax

paying citizens" go a notch ahead to prove the faith and trust placed by Regulatory Authorities in particular and the

Government in general in this brigade of professionals.

The deliberations of the 2nd National Conference of Corporate CS come in the wake of the beginning of a post-

pandemic era. Centred on the theme 'Corporate CS - Navigating New Challenges', the intent is to provide a platform

for initiating discussions on the challenges facing presently and to render our professionals future ready. More

importantly, the idea is to have an optimistic outlook and find ways to transform these challenges into finer

opportunities as well as to share common ground and strive towards the goal of making an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

In such a scenario, while it is imperative for us to step up in our roles and undertake our designated responsibilities

with greater conviction than ever, what is even more behoved is the fact that as professionals we guide the corporates

to sail through turbulences and navigate the India Inc. as well as the entire nation on the path of economic glory.

The times gone by have tested and challenged us in ways unprecedented. It would be an understatement to say that

our lives have been altered, for it is not just our personal, individual selves who have sought makeovers but our entire

professional scenarios, the environments surrounding, the corporates we serve, have undergone an astounding

metamorphosis.
