If you are born in the United States (or territories) or are born with a parent who is a US citizen, you are a
Native-born US Citizen.

Naturalized Citizenship
• The Naturalization process is the way people who are not citizens by birth can become US Citizens.
• Naturalized Citizens are US Citizens, and have the same rights, duties, and responsibilities as native citizens.
• The only exception: Naturalized Citizens cannot become President or Vice President
The Naturalization Process
1. Must be at least 18 Years Old to apply for Citizenship
2. Must be a Lawful, Permanent Resident of the US for at least 5 Years (3 Years if married to a US Citizen)
3. Must have “Good Moral Character”4. Must take and pass test on English, and US
History and Civics5. Must Complete Interview6. Must Swear Loyalty to the US
