Dear Fox Trotter Lovers,

Fox Trotters have given us the “Ride of Our Life”! We at Dreamaker Farms have been richly blessed to have been allowed to enjoy the wonderful foxtrotting horses.We were placed on this earth at the right place at the right time to take advantage of genetics to be able to produce fox trotters of the color and patterns we desired. Thanks to Gus Cothran of the University of Kentucky for all of his help over the years. Those of you that know our farm, know we always have a plan and are very goal oriented. Our foxtrotting family of breeders, clients, MFTHBA Staff and friends along with modern technology has allowed us to reach our goals. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!As the sands of time ebb away, Dreamaker Farms is reaching for our final goals. This year 5 of our late foaling mares chose to start our herd dispersal. 5 more will leave in 2006, 5 more in 2007. Our final breeding goal is to produce a Cream breeding stallion that types EE, AA, CR/CR that would be predicted to produce buckskin foals from common colored mares. Surely he is inutero in one of our six creme mares we bred to produce him in 2006. He will join our breeding stallions presently at the farm, Flash’s Dreamaker (D.M.), Southern Blizzard and Pride’s Dunn Deal. Hopefully a dominant curly stallion will join our loved “boys” so our allergic friends can have a hypo-allergenic stallion as an additional choice. I hope advanced age never prevents me from telling someone how to collect the stallions, inseminate mares and shipping semen. The mares left will continue to produce the genetic seed stock for our industry.In 2004, we were introduced to a new family “Arbonne”. We will slowly be dispersing our fox trotters but rapidly accelerating our Arbonne business. I have chosen my final fox trotting horse. Arthritis dictated a short, calm horse, I choose a pretty palomino/white tobiano with a true fox trot. “Markee” was born in May 2005 after residing in his mother’s womb for 1 year and 5 days. He rose to his feet before his mother did and immediately came over to me. We have been joined at the hip ever since. He leaves his mom and often does chores with me. He has never been haltered but he seems to have the spirit and intelligence required for special bonding. I will share him with my 6 year old buddy Joe and when I can no longer ride, Joe will continue on Markee for the Ride Of His Life. Peace, health and well being to ALL!
