in Geneva presents its compliments to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human

Rights and with reference to the latter's Note NGIEIIPT dated 28 January 2010 and

Human Rights Council resolution 1214, has the honor to submit the responses of the

Philippine Department of Education to the questionnaire on the evaluation of the first

phase of the World Programme for Human Rights Education.

As a general comment on the first phase of the World Programme for Human

Rights Education, the teaching of human rights education is surely a need, but teachers

and education institutions especially in developing countries must be properly equipped

and appropriate materials provided to them and students.

The Permanent Mission of the Philippines avails itself of this opportunity to renew

to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights the assurances of its highest
