1,0 IntroductionThe Refractometer Table Stand provides conveniencefor laboratory applications. Hand-held refractometers(Models 1310400A, 13104190 and 13104230) can besecured to the stand for maximum safety, eliminatingaccidental breakage.

The stand's built-in illuminator provides clear reading ofthe refractometer internal scale. A tilting mount permitseasy sample loading. The molded, clear plastic drip pan,easily removes for cleaning.

Environmental and Electrical Condisderations:

Model 13104000stand can be used with IIO-I20\/, 60 Hz AC .Model 131040S0stand accepts 220-24O\/'5!V60Hz AC. Ensurethat the stand is connected to a grounded outlet PowerRating: 10Watts. Installation Category II. Pollution Degree 2.Environmental Conditions25to 40 Celsius,50to 9O%MaximumHumidity,2OOOmAltitude. Do not use in a manner not specifiedby Reichert Inc.

2.0 Hefractometer lVlounting1. Loosen lock screw (No.1, Figure 2).

2. Remove plexiglass nameplate from therefractometer by unsnapping the retaining spring(Figure 1).

3. Install refractometer by inserting into stand arm(No.2, Figure 2) and position to a point where therefractometer eyepiece is approximately 1/2" fromstand arm. lighten lock screw (No.1, Figure 2).

4. Replace refractometer plexiglass nameplate andengage retaining spring.

The refractometer stand is factory adjusted for correctlight refraction when using Reichert hand-heldrefractometers, Models 1310400A, 13104190 and13104230.To use these instruments with the stand, installas previously described and turn on the lamp switch.

1. First. make sure the stand is unplugged.Remove twoadjustable feet (No. 10, Figure 2) and one screw(No. 15, Figure 2) and separate stand housing andlamp mount assembly.

2. Replace lamp and reassemble.

6, 0 ~\Va:r:rantv.'All additions, alterations and exceptions to and/orwaivers of the General Conditions of Warranty must be inwriting and form an integral part of the offer and thecontract of sale.

1. As promptly as possible upon receipt of the EndUser's notice in writing, Reichert lnc.,herinafter referred to as the Manufacturer, herebyundertakes, as it may see fit and at its salediscretion, either to replace or repair any parts of itsProducts which are or have become ascertainablydefective or unserviceable due to poor materials,faulty design, or deficient manufacture. All partsreplaced shall become the Manufacturer's property.

2.1 This Warranty applies to the repair or replacementand recommissioning free of charge of defective orunserviceable parts. The cost of transport, packingand insurance will be covered by the manufacturerfor only the first 60 days after the proven date ofdelivery.

2.2 The Warranty period begins on the proved date ofdelivery to the End User or of commissioning theequipment, whichever is later, except that it shallbegin not later than sixty days after the date of theManufacturer's invoice.

3. The Manufacturer's liability under Warranty shallnot apply to damage due to normal wear and tear,improper use, inadequate maintenance, disregardof operating instructions, excessive load or stressor to any other cause not due or attributable to theManufacturer. Except by the express prioragreement in writing, the Manufacturer shall not beliable under Warranty for damage due orattributable to repairs or alterations made by theEnd User or any unauthorized third party toProducts under Warranty, or to the use ofcomponents or spare parts not specified orapproved by the Manufacturer.

Due to a policy of continuousdevelopment,we reservethe right tochangespecificationswithout notice.

4. This Warranty expressly excludes transportdamage; consumer items, such as batteries,accumulators, bulbs and fuses; and adjustment orreadjustment of the Products.

5. This Warranty expressly excludes any liability bythe Manufacturer for consequential loss or damageon any grounds, such as (but not limited to) the non-availability to End User of the Products underWarranty or the need to repair work processes.

6. For goods and components manufactured by anythird party, the Manufacturer's liability underWarranty is expressly limited to the terms of theWarranty by the supplier for such goods andcomponents.

7. The Manufacturer shall not be required to provideservices under Warranty until and unless the EndUser has paid such part of the purchase price asbears a reasonable relation to the value of thedefect complained of.

8. Place of performance for work under Warranty shallbe the Manufacturer's registered office or thenearest authorized service center and for Productsforming part of a fixed installation it shall be the siteof such installation. The Manufacturer shall at itssale discretion. decide the place of performance.The Manufacturer shall have the right to charge forservices under Warranty if the instrument's site isoutside the End User's country.

9. This Warranty shall be interpreted in accordancewith substantive U.S. law. The place of jurisdictionshall be the manufacturer's registered office, exceptthat the Manufacturer shall at its sole discretionalso have the right to invoke the courts of lawhaving jurisdiction at the End User's place ofbusiness.
