TRANSCRIPT

  • Within the framework of the Second Industrial Development Decade for Africa (1991-2000), the UN

General Assembly, in 1989, proclaimed 20 November Africa Industrialization Day. The Day is

intended to mobilize the commitment of the international community to the industrialization of

Africa. The important contribution of inclusive and sustainable industrialization in helping Africa to

overcome its critical development challenges is clearly recognized in the 2030 Agenda for

Sustainable Development. The Sustainable Development Goal 9 calls to build resilient

infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

"Africa needs to invest in training and education for women and

youth to industrialize, grow the private sector and achieve

sustainable development. Ban Ki-moon Secretary-General of the United Nations

Over the past years, we have had ample opportunity to take stock of the critical situation in Africa.

We know about the many problems confronting Africa today. We need to act in concert, in the spirit of true

partnership, if we are to move ahead in addressing these problems. Africans are primarily responsible for

their own development. But the international community bears a clear responsibility in supporting and

sustaining their efforts at helping themselves. Together, we must take action on many fronts if we are to

    succeed. former Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali

  • About SADFA

The Sino-African Diaspora Forum and Awards (SADFA) is a strategic Forum of the Africa Asia Scholars Global Network (AASGON), a not-for-profit Academic, Socio-Economic and Cultural Think Tank,

established to promote sustainable development and facilitate business, investments, and mutual

understanding between Overseas Chinese and African Entrepreneurs and the Academics.

SADFAs strategic platform brings together innovators, entrepreneurs, businessmen, investors and

industrialists keenly interested in doing business in Africa or China and contributing to world peace and

    prosperity.

Promoting sustainable socio-economic and cultural relationships and the exchange of best practices

between China and Africa, SADFA creates the enabling environment for Heads of African and Chinese

Governments and Diplomatic Missions to engage with businesses, educational and research institutions,

the media, and civil society organisations largely based in Europe and America.

To help promote the China-Africa Cooperation by providing interactive networking and business

development opportunities, our unique platform essentially conducts investment workshops, seminars,

luncheons, dinners, and annual Investors Awards.

Strengthening Sino-Africa relations, SADFA provides professional support for companies wishing to

establish businesses in Africa or Chinese communities. It excels offering Consulting services and

assisting with the identification of potential partners and investors, and the exchange of valuable

information on commercial, investments and trade relations between China and Africa.
