Welcome To 1stcruWe have tried where possible to source wines from smaller family run businesses. It is our belief that these growers and producers take a great pride in their wines and strive to produce the best wines possible showing the true characteristics of the grape varieties, conditions they are grown, area and climate. Not forgetting generations of family winemaking know-how.We feel that there is more individuality with these wines over the mass produced wines from the larger corporations that are produced for the masses. We hope you like the selection of wines we have put together and hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Within the following presentation you will see a selection of our wines. The wines we have chosen show a variety of what we consider suitable for corporate or staff gifts. We also offer good quality presentation gift boxes. There is a wider selection of wines available by visiting our website www.1stcru.nl. If there is a particular wine you are looking for and we do not have this then please feel free to contact us through the site and we can investigate if we can source it for you. Ordering is very simple through the site and you can also see our prices along with the terms & conditions. I hope you enjoy this presentation or browsing the site and we look forward to being of service to you.

An elegant champagne in which the Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grapes blend excellently with each other in perfect balance, characterising the golden hews and refined mousse. The subtle taste is impressively long and distinguished with an after taste of white blossom.

Pol Roger Selection

Champagne Pol Roger is one of the very few remaining houses still owned and run by the founding family, who remain responsible for the winemaking and selection of the cuvées each year, producing what is considered amongst many industry leaders as the best champagnes of the moment.

Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill 1998

Sir Winston Churchill was Pol Roger's most illustrious devotee and customer. This champagne, which is made in his name and honor is described as "the greatest prestige cuvee of our time". Churchill himself said about the champagnes of Pol. Roger "In defeat I need it. In victory I've earned it." The composition of the blend is a closely guarded family secret but from tasting it is likely that the champagne features about 70-80% Pinot Noir with the remainder made up from Chardonnay. The grapes are all from Grand Cru vineyards which were under vine during Churchill's lifetime and it is only ever made in the very best vintages. It is made in a style which Churchill himself favored. Robust, mature and long-lived.
