Col. Fred Damman, a past com­mander of Frank Frantz Camp, U. S. W. V., was elected president of the Veterans Americanism Club, at their regular monthly meeting held last ·Wednesday night. He succeeds Jos­eph W. Lynn, retiring president.

"Red" Pettis was elected Yice pres­ident and T. D. Murray secretary­treasurer. • An executive committee will be appointed immediately.

Colonel Damman was principQI speaker at the meeLing and approxi­mately 175 persons were present for the dinner, including members of tl1e Legion Auxili-ary, VFW Aux;liary, Army Mothers Club, and Navy Moth­ers Club. This was the first time Lhat women had been invited to attend.

There was an enthusiastic group of nineteen ladies responded to the call to work on Red Cross knilling and sewing last Tuesday at the Hut. Tues­day, January 13th, 10 a. m., is the elate of the next meeting and Mrs. Walter A. Jacobs, Community Serv­ice Chairman is looking forward toa much larger attendance. The Unit ,needs three more sewing machines to be used in this work. Any one who has a machine they would be willing to loan, kindly get in touch with Mrs. Jacobs, 4-8562. The plan is for ev­erybody to take a sandwich or cov­ered dish for lunch, and hot coffee will be served by the Unit.

So many members have expressed a desire to learn First Aid work that Mrs. M. C. Roberts has consented to be at Tuesday's meeting at 2 p. m., to discuss the organization of a class in that work. This is an opportunity that should not be passed up by any
