Daun Paris is one of the few women in command of a com- mercial real estate company, having co-founded Eastern Consolidated 32 years ago and grown the firm from a small boutique into the largest in- vestment sales brokerage under one roof in the country, with $4 billion in annual sales. Eastern now stands as a melting pot of professionals with varied back- grounds, where individualism is valued within the greater good, Ms. Paris said. The company’s 40 brokers speak 13 languages fluently and include former lawyers, busi- ness owners, accountants and others who have banded togeth- er for years, if not decades. “We were never really fo- cused on building a large company; we were about qual- ity over quantity,” Ms. Paris said. “That’s why we are able to compete with these real estate firms that have offices all over the country.” Among other honors, Ms. Paris was counted among the Association of Real Estate Women’s Most Powerful Women in Real Estate in 2009, and has served as an arbitrator for the Real Estate Board of New York. She is on the boards of direc- tors of Northern Westchester Hospital and the Jewish Child Care Association, among other charity work. “That’s really where I get my joy,” she said.
