Cuyahoga Community College's 1st President

Dr. Charles E. Chapman, Presi­dent of Cuyahoga Community College for ten years has helped it grow from a 3, 039 enrollment in 1963 to 21, 000 in 1973. He has served as a guiding light for Metro, Eastern, and West­ern Campuses. It is with much re­gret that Cuyahoga Community Col­lege loses a great president and leader, Dr. Charles E. Chapman, who is leaving to take a position in California. Good luck Dr. Chapman, we'll miss you!

CCC Track Team finished 6th in the Na­tional meet.

After last years great indoor season the track team, with primarily all fresh­men, finished fifth in the nation. The team was led by Co-captains Robert Dudley and Louis DeFreeze.

The team finished well up in the final standings in the Florida Relays and then traveled to St. Louis where Larry Jackson gave an outstanding performance. Larry won the outstanding award for his impres­sive victories in the 100 and 220. Tri C ran well against the four year colleges in the Ohio Relays. Marvin Landingham set six records at the Greater Cleveland Col­lege Championships. Our mile relay team set a new school record of 3: 10.6 at the National Championships in Pasadena, Texas. The team finished sixth out of 125 teams entered. Also, the mile relay was the sec-0nd fastest time ever run by a junior col­lege. The mile relay team included Louis DeFreeze, Ralph Hale, Monroe Larkin, and Fred Worley. Louis DeFreeze fin­ished 3rd in the 880 with a school record of 1:51. 3 .
