Explanation of Symbols. S means a short season in that Division. Such persons are not relegated.

D disqualified for failing to show proof of B.C. U. membership during the season (see page 5). Before such paddlers are allowed to compete in 1971 they must : (a) Show that they have paid their B.C.U. membership for 1970 and

1971. Pay a fine of £1 to the slalom secretary, for which a receipt will be issued.

Any paddler with a D against his name who attempts to enter a slalom before he has complied with (a) and (b) above and before he has received a receipt and letter of clearance from the slalom secretary, shall be dis­ qualified from all competition for the remainder of the season and shall re-enter competition as a Novice the following season. This penalty shall ' apply automatically, whether the offence be deleted at the time or sub- sequently. --
