BEFORE PLUGGING YOUR IN-EARS into a headphone jack, please turn the volume all the way down on your sound source. Custom in-ear monitors are much more sensitive than traditional full-sized head-phones.

WARNING! Long exposure to high Sound Pressure Levels can result in permanent hearing loss. If you experience ringing in your ears, imme-diately consult an audiologist. Always listen to music at a reasonable volume and consider this chart (on the right) created by OSHA regard-ing safe noise exposure limits.

By purchasing and using our product(s) you agree to hold 1964 EARS, LLC harmless for any damage to your ears or hearing due to use of our product.

BEFORE INSERTING your custom in-ears, examine the color coded serial number and initials. Red for the right ear and blue for the left.

TO INSERT the earpieces, follow these 4 simple steps:

TO REMOVE grab the earpiece by the sides as you pull it out. Never pull on the cable when removing the earpiece, as this will (over time) permanently damage the cable.

Gently push in the earpiece with a slight twist-back motion.

Lighty press on the face-plate until you feel the ear-piece fit into place.

Insert the canal stem into your ear while maintaining the forward tilt angle.

Bring the earpiece from the back of your neck, slightly tilted forward.

INSERTING THE IEMs

Your custom in-ear monitors will come into contact with bodily moisture and ear wax. It is important to take proper care of them to extend the life and functionality of your investment. Here are a few tips:

1. Clean the earpieces with a damp cloth after each performance or listening session. Do not submerge in/or bring near water.

2. Clean the inside of the sound tubes with the wax loop on the provided cleaning tool. Do not use the brush to clean inside of the sound tubes (you will only push the wax further in).

5. Finally, always remember to NEVER share your custom IEMs with other people. Besides improper fit, you run the risk of possible ear in-fections.

3. After cleaning, store your in-ears in the pro-vided hard-shell case. Do not leave this case in direct sunlight (dashboard, window sill, etc)

4. Avoid dropping or causing shock or vibration to the earpieces. You will damage the compo-nents inside. Ensure that the cord is firmly at-tached before active use.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Page 7: 1964 Ears Owner's Manual

The cable used by 1964 EARS is lightweight and flexible. Because of this, it can be prone to tangling. To ensure years of trouble-free use, proper cable management is essential.

After use, clean the earpieces with a damp cloth. Carefully slide the clear sleeve from the “Y” junction to bring the earpieces together.

WWrap the cord loosely around 3 fingers and place inside of the pro-vided soft pouch. During transport, always store your monitors inside the hard shell case.

Your 1964 EARS IEMs (in-ear monitors) feature a “field- replaceable” cable, which can easily be replaced.

To replace the cable, carefully unplug the cord from each earphone. Pull straight outward to avoid bending the leads. Insert the new cord by properly lining up the polarity of the pins* and slowly, but steadily, press the connectors in. Do not use excessive force to seat the con-nectors.

CORD POLARITY In the event that you need to replace or re-seat the detachable cable, pay attention to the polarity marking on the 2-pin connectors. Each earpiece is marked with BLUE for LEFT or RED for RIGHT serial and initials. The dot found on the connector needs to be of the corresponding color and facing up towards the serial number on the shell. If you experience a distant, hollow sound you may have reversed polarity on one of the earpieces.
