EUCPM: European Union Civil Protection Mechanism
• Following the heavy rains, flood waters have triggered more then 3 000 landslides in Bosnia-Herzegovina, which have buried houses and disturbed land mines laid during the war in the 1990s. Flood alerts are still in place in many areas of northern Bosnia
• The official death toll is 19, with authorities warning this number may increase.
• Assistance is being provided by Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, France, the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia and Romania.
• A UCP team has been deployed to Bosnia over the weekend to assist the authorities, facilitating the aid provided through the Civil Protection by the participating states.
