N experience of five years prior to the one just passed, has been amply sufficient

'T^-k to demonstrate to an always discriminating public— and especially to its female

members— the rehability, regularity, uniformity, economy, and general superiority ot the

Standard Trimmings. During that time, a few imitations have been thrown on the

market ; but, as their hasty production arose from the demand for that line of goods,

which was originally evoked by the dissemination of the Standard Trimmings, most of

them have disappeared. The facilities for manufacturing the goods herein illustrated, have

been immensely increased. Comparatively old styles of machines have been greatly

improved, and new ones, of delicate and complicated structure, have been introduced.

Previous varieties of Trimmings can therefore not only be furnished in better shape than

ever, but the inventive powers of the most skillful machinists in the world have brought

about the presentation of a series of novelties, which cannot fail to prove acceptable and

attractive. All the kinds of White Trimmings formerly made by hand, are now produced by

machinery, and a number of designs have been brought out, which were heretofore con-

sidered impossible. The Standard Trimmings being exclusively of white goods, and

embracing a vast quantity of patterns, there is not an article of female apparel or a house-

hold appurtenance composed of white material, for which they do not readily furnish

appropriate decorations. The assortment of Collarettes especially is exceedingly hand-

some, and these articles are to be particularly recommended as neater in every respect,

and cheaper than collars ; they also remain clean longer, and can be more easily replaced.

During the past year, all the prominent Fashion journals in America have most

heartily endorsed the STANDARD TRIMMINGS, and still continue to recommend them

gratuitously in their widespread columns, as the most acceptable articles of the kind now

beingissued.

The goods in question will behereafter,

as theyhave been heretofore, neat,

reliable, enduring, convenient, easy of application, and cheap. Those merchants all over the

land, who have White Trimmings in store, should remember that it is eminently essential

to success, that articles should be kept on hand which will be called for twice. To keep

supplied with reputable goods is the dealer's first safeguard : profit is then sure to follow.

It is needless to say to the merchants of this country, that the STANDARD TRIMMINGS

are of that character, for experience must by this time have fully demonstrated the fact.
