Case management follow-up is a comprehensive system that interfaces with the documentation and new patient experience aspect of case management, use of Eaglesoft reports, fi nancial management and an active hygiene department. The use of the invaluable Eaglesoft management reports will close any holes that allow new patients and active patients to often slip from view in most practices.

It will be a key aspect of increasing production, improving intra-team communication and increasing the number of satisfi ed patients, which results in more invitations!

Discussions will include: • New patient interview • New patient phone scripting • Morning huddles • Use of the presentation forms and how to attach photos

Reports that will be used to implement an incredible case management system: • The Money Finder (fi rst visit report) • Referral Productivity Detailed • Patients Currently Referred Out • Detailed treatment plans • New Persons • Outstanding Pre-Authorizations By Insurance • Quick Fill

Direct composite restorations are among the most frequently performed restorative procedures, yet dentists often struggle with placement techniques, options for consistently generating ideal interproximal contact and post-operative sensitivity. Several key elements will determine the success of direct esthetic restorations including tooth preparation, material choice, and placement technique and curing method. This presentation will discuss how each element plays a critical role in the professional’s decision-making process when determining which materials, systems and techniques are best to utilize when doing direct composite restorations. This program will review esthetic principles, modern preparation design and when and where to use “total-etch” and “self-etch” adhesive systems. Additional topics will include proper composite selection and placement techniques, anatomical contouring, and fi nishing and polishing, all of which are essential clinical components to achieving long-lasting esthetic restorations.

Course Objectives: • Review of esthetic principles • Indications for anterior and posterior direct composites • The latest on preparation design • Understanding of adhesion, current products and their function in modern-day dentistry • Technique tips for handling and placement of modern composites • Technique tips for generating ideal anatomic interproximal contacts • Polishing and sealing techniques for long-term durability

Clinicians report that the impression taking process is the most stressful daily restorative procedure. This presentation will review the key factors involved in capturing perfect impressions predictably and consistently. A discussion on the chemical and physical properties of elastomeric impressions and how they relate to their clinical usage will be presented. Tissue management, the most critical aspect of obtaining a perfect impression, will be addressed, including the effectiveness of new and innovative product solutions aimed at procedural simplifi cation. The selection of the appropriate materials as it relates to the ideally suited impression tray will be reviewed. In addition, new diagnostic and therapeutic devices will be covered. Participants will learn how to routinely make accurate impressions for fabrication of diagnostic and restorative models and understand the basics of impression materials including how they differ and why they fail.

Course Objectives: • Understand the key material and technique factors involved in achieving an ideal impression • Learn about techniques available for soft tissue retraction and hemostasis • Understand the factors involved in tray and impression material selection • Review clinical techniques to reduce impression retakes and crown remakes, and increase

overall offi ce effi ciency

FROM RISK TO RESULTS: PERIODONTAL INSTRUMENTATION FOR THE ADVANCED PRACTITIONER Presented by Marianne Dryer | 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Three CE credits

This course is based on current scientifi c literature providing the clinician with evidence-based tools and strategies including the use of periodontal risk assessment protocols, salivary diagnostics, incorporation of the dental exam and progressive treatment planning. Advantages of ultrasonic instrumentation will be examined as demonstrated in the current research for obtaining successful clinical outcomes while providing comprehensive patient care.

Course Objectives: • Develop an understanding of the evidence-based decision making (EBDM) process while providing

a mechanism for staying current in practice by addressing gaps in knowledge so that the clinician can provide the best care possible

• Understand the unique relationship between oral and systemic conditions utilizing the patient’s risk factors including current medical status, dental and periodontal considerations, and total patient history

• Discuss the use salivary diagnostics for the presence of diabetes, C-reactive protein and other biomarkers that play a role in periodontal disease

• Develop an understanding of the role ultrasonic instrumentation plays in the delivery of successful preventive and therapeutic debridement through an examination of the current evidence-based research

This course provides the dental professional with techniques to utilize with their current technology, analog or digital, to produce quality diagnostic images on the fi rst exposure.

Course Objectives: • Compare and contrast the differences between analog and digital technique with modifi cations • Recognize advantages and limitations of new radiographic technology, digital systems and new designs

in aiming devices and holders • Recognize technology changes and the impact of radiation exposure
